  • QuestionHow do I get the faceplate off this particular doorbell? And if it hardwired. Why is the battery at 27% in less than 6 months.?

    Asked by Happybuyer.

    • Answer Hi Jmf1. Using the screwdriver provided with your Doorbell, you will need to remove the security screw at the bottom of the Doorbell. Once the security screw has been removed, you can pull the faceplate off by gently pulling it from the lower edge. We also have a visual reference on removing the faceplate in our Help Center article here: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052442051-Installing-your-Video-Doorbell-faceplate. As for the battery level, hardwiring a battery powered Doorbell will provide a trickle charge to help keep the battery topped off between charges. Various factors can still impact how quickly the battery in your Doorbell will drain, which you can read more about here: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/4405531384468-How-to-Fix-Unexpected-Battery-Drain-in-Your-Ring-Video-Doorbell-or-Security-Camera. Making some adjustments to the settings may help reduce the battery drain. All the best, Ashley from Ring.

  • QuestionCan battery be removed and replaced with a fresh battery?

    Asked by Joy.

    • Answer Hello Joy, Great question. No, the Ring Video Doorbell 2020 does not have a removable battery. Your Video Doorbell (2020 release) battery is charged using a common micro-USB cable (an orange one is included in your Ring box). The micro-USB cable can be plugged into any USB power source, such as a computer. Your battery will take around five to 10 hours to fully charge, depending on whether the USB cable is plugged into a USB port or into a wall outlet. • QuestionMy router is 35' from my front door will this ring door bell work?

    Asked by Nick.

    • Answer Hi Nick. Thanks for asking. The ideal distance between a router and a Ring device is under 20 feet. Certain materials can reduce range or otherwise interfere with wifi signals. If you have any of the following between your router and your Ring device, it may reduce wifi signal strength: Heavy-duty walls and floors made of concrete, brick, or metal. Large household objects such as fish tanks, bookcases, or mirrors. Large glass windows. Large metal objects, such as home appliances. Visit our support center for more information. • QuestionI currently don't have a doorbell can I still use this. What is involved in installing it?

    Asked by WilliamC.

    • Answer Yes, you can still use this. It will be battery powered all the time instead of hardwired. Having a doorbell allows you to hardwire it but you can still take advantage of all the included features when it’s battery powered. Just follow the instructions to install it. If you’re not comfortable with that then set it up with BestBuy’s Geek Squad for installation.
