A:Answer I only have one SmartThings hub and have a two story 2400 sf home. I have never heard of the “smart family fridge hub”. Mine is the SmartThings latest hub. All of my internet, satellite and OTA inputs originate in he garage at the far end of the house. While doing the setup, I placed this hub next to the router in the garage, which was directly connected to the router. The hub had no issues connecting to anything where it is at, so I left it about as far away as possible. My original plan was to hang it high on the wall in the pantry (where the doorbell power is at) near the center of the house. Since it works well where it is, it is staying there. To put this in perspective, I had to cover my house with THREE access points for wireless before changing that to the Orbi system. I was really surprised at the SmartThings hub performance.
