- Answer All SiriusXM home products (including the Onyx Plus with home kit) come with an NGHA3 antenna which is an antenna designed for indoor or outdoor use. The antenna is fully weatherproofed and designed for permanent installation outdoor where it typically gets best reception. The antenna comes with a permanently attached 21 foot cable. Optional 50ft extension cables are available to get outdoor placement with a best view of the southern sky.

- Answer I have a SiriusXM subscription in my two vehicles and recently purchased an Onyx Plus Home Kit satellite receiver to attach to my vintage Technics stereo system for home use. Simplest way to make it work for me was to add the home kit receiver to my existing XM account. Not sure if this helps.

- Answer No, this does not connect via Bluetooth. If you're looking for a radio that has bluetooth connectivity, we recommend the Tour Radio (SXWB1V1) and then adding the home dock, SXDH4.

QuestionI have a 2005 Jeep grand Cherokee with the best radio they put in back then, it has a 6-cd player and all controls behind the wheel and a lifetime Sirius on the radio and can't find a radio to fit in it and how could I load several cd's in a new one.

- Answer Call the company. They cancel the old device, and activate the new one. Your subscription can stay same, or you can opt for a different one. They do charge an activation fee, although sometimes they waive it.

QuestionFM transmitter does not work when connected to a Home Kit but works with a vehicle kit. Older Delphi XM radio did. What Happened.? This Onyx radio is inferior to the Delphi Product.

- Answer The design changed in 2009 and the XM FM Direct adapter Model XMFM1 was replaced with the FMDA25. On the old design the FM signal came out on the antenna port. But on the new design the FM signal came out of a seperate FM port on the dock. If you have an Onyx Plus with Home kit there is no FM port but the Home dock has a line audio output designed for a 3.5mm Audio cable with is included with the Onyx Plus with Home kit and this cable can connect directly to your home stereo system and provide a much clearer, higher fidelity and more reliable connection.

- Answer I believe they have a new item, SXBTD1V1 Bluetooth vehicle dock. For home, you need a home power adapter. It’s best to call Sirius, and they should tell you the specifics of these items.

- Answer No, it doesn’t play cds. It receives satellite radio signals from siriusxm. Then you must connect it to some audio system or siriusxm soundbox, to hear the audio.

- Answer No special steps to hook up as long as you have a southern facing window with an unobstructed view of the southern horizon. The kit comes with everything you need. Optional 50ft extension cables can be purchased if you the radio needs to be more than 20 feet from the southern facing window. Or if your window has metal screens or metalized coatings for energy efficiency which can block our satellite signal and require that the included weather proof indoor/outdoor antenna be placed outside the window.

- Answer It depends how and where your wife is planning to use the radio. If it is one location like at a desk, then yes, however the volume is not easily adjustable. If you have a current SiriusXM subscriptions, your subscription includes SXM streaming via the SXM app.

- Answer The Onyx Plus does not support Bluetooth directly. However, you can add a Bluetooth transmitter to the Audio output port and connect to a sound system that supports Bluetooth.

- Answer The Onyx Plus radio with the vehicle kit is designed to be self installed if so inclined. The antenna needs to be installed on the roof and you will need to run the cable inside and under some of the vehicle trim panels (the Quick start guide) gives you some installation tips that can help.

- Answer No. the Onyx Plus just requires the antenna be placed in a location in your home (or outside of your home if your walls or window screens block the signal) that faces the southern sky and is not blocked by buildings, large trees or other solid objects. The Onyx Plus has a "antenna signal strength" menu option to help you point the antenna in the optimum location.

- Answer It depends on your trailer and mounting location. If the plan is to moumt the radio in the wall, because there are no shelves or places to rest it on, we recommend to mount the unit to the wall using the adhesive mount (And use a heat gun or hair dryer to activate the adhesive).
