It will allow for autofocus but keep in mind the autofocus wont be as consistent as a native Sony lens but if manually focusing with this adapter for canon on Sony bodies you should be very happy with the results. A:AnswerSilent shutter if fantastic and it is completely silent. However, I would NOT spend $1000 just for that feature though, especially in a noisy environment like a concert.
