QuestionCan I have separate 2.4 and 5.0 SSID's for this product? I have a "smart" AC that can only work if it has a dedicated 2.4 Ghz connection

- Answer I didn’t see an option to have different SSID for each. However you do have the option of 2.4 AND/OR 5.0. And if you need an independent network you can enable a Guest network. In my house I kept my modem network available with a SSID and that is the one I use for dedicated devices.

QuestionMy ISP, CCI, supplies one unit which is a Zyxel model VMG4927. CCI told me I have no modem that the Zyxel is only a router. CCI advised me that I have direct internet via fiber optic and need no modem. Anyone else? Do I just connect to Deco directly?

- Answer If you current internet working with Zyxel model VMG4927 thats means you can connect new Deco with Zyxel model VMG4927. For example; I connected my xfinity modem ethernet port with anyone deco ethernet port. Its very simple to test; just connect your Zyxel model VMG4927 ethernet port to any one of your deco ethernet port. Logically we need modem; I have no technical knowledge about Zyxel model VMG4927 but its worth to give a try.

- Answer All three (3) are the same. Choose any of the three and you’ll need to use the provided cable to connect one to your modem/router.

Questionchicken and the egg. I live in the mountains (no Cell coverage) and need this AC1200 to work behind my ATA cable modem (Satellite link). So if I buy this is there a way to do the install without Cell phone connection? Wifi calling happens after setup.

- Answer Sure I have downloaded the app on my iphone via wifi but to configure the AC1200 you need cell phone coverage during setup to configure the AC1200. That is the chicken and the egg. So what I did was keep my Cable modem to existing router, and its wifi connection, and ethernet connected that existing router to the AC1200. TP-link deco App on cell phone works via the wifi of the existing router and you can configure the AC1200. System works good throughout the house. Once configured however you can't remove the old existing router, hook the Cable modem to the AC1200 because that isn't the way it was setup via the TP-link Deco app. The system is a brick so you have to reset the 3 AC1200s and configure again using the TP-link Deco App on the iphone. But there is no wifi or cell phone coverage just as I started out.

- Answer Not an expert as this is me first time installing. You made need one additional unit, depending on how big your house is. I got the 3 pack, 1500 sq. ft house, modem is in one corner and my office is diagonally in the opposite corner. Works great, no issues.

- Answer To the best of my knowledge---yes. I currently have Frontier 1GHZ and it works just great. I was able to turn in my router back to Frontier saving $11 per month.

- Answer Any modem with Ethernet output. Ideally, you would want to choose a modem that is compatible with your Internet provider and your specific speed plan. You can then connect the modem to the primary Deco unit via Ethernet cable.

QuestionI purchased the AC 1200... I plugged it in and used the Eithernet connector on my Centurytel modem. i connected one ring door bell .i got up this morning and my Arlo cameras and hub were off line?? Also all but the one doorbell. ring cameras disconnected

- Answer With this system, you can use the your original WiFi or the TP Link WiFi. Both options are available to connect to for whatever gadgets you have. I found this to be true for myself as well as my friend who recommended this TP Link product to me.

- Answer 1) If you are referring to two separate Internet sources/locations, you can set up each Deco unit independent of each other within the Deco app. 2) Please refer to our FAQ for QoS: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1601/ 3) The Deco does not offer this level of depth in bandwidth monitoring; however we appreciate your interest in it and will share it with our Deco team for future consideration.

- Answer No, you need to buy a separate router, this is a router with built in wi-fi, just connect your modem via the ethernet cable to one of this devices and you can mesh others too using the mobile app.

- Answer I added these in Access Point mode with a Google fiber router (since I have Google phone and have to keep the router for that) and am very happy with the result. The backhaul is over Ethernet, so it is very fast. 400mbps. During setup use Access Point mode, disable wifi on your current router. Enable Fast Roaming and Beamforming
