A:AnswerSonny,
Maybe this info will help. I recently purchased this Jet Pack for a pop up shop in Boston. As we also had no internet options, it was really the only way to go. The jet pack was to operate an IPAD pos system (Shopify), link up to Spotify for store music, and additionally run a SimplySafe alarm system equipped with (1) surveillance camera.
The device is on our VZW UNlimited business plan, and for $20 bucks a month you can't beat the price.
The device works great, signal never seems to fail or drop, HOWEVER........
I found within the first two months that the SimpliSafe camera when used too often for live streaming the video OR if it is set to record for too long a period (when sensors go off, upon door entry, alarm disarmed etc) and the Spotify for music CHEW THROUGH data like crazy. And while the plan is "unlimited data", after 15GB you are throttled down to speeds of 600kbps and lower per plan agreement. I was finding the usage reaching 15GB by halfway through the 30 day period, thus rendering the security camera unable to live stream without cutting out constantly. I explored a different plan option, which for Verizon is purchasing 10, 20, 50 GB etc per month. Those prices get up in the the several hundreds per month range.
Quick summary, great device that does its job. Until you run devices (audio and video streaming) that consume heavy data. I find now once or twice a day quick checks on the security cam, adjusting auto record lengths on the cam, and downloading playlists directly to the ipad vs. live streaming Spotify have brought usage down to 10-15GB per month.
Hope this helps!
A:AnswerIf it does, that’s a good deal. I pay $20 per month for unlimited, though that’s a bit deceiving. It’s 15 gb for 4 G and the Your speed goes down
A:AnswerI just went to the Verizon store to see about this product. My bill is currently $51 per month. I would have to upgrade to unlimited data plus the charge for wifi. My new bill would be $121 per month.
A:AnswerYes it works well with streaming providers (Netflix/Hulu/Spectrum/Fox/Syfy/etc...). Mostly purchased it to perform video conferences using my Polycom gear and use it a lot when I travel. If you plan to stream movies I highly recommend getting the unlimited package from Verizon.
One bonus on this hotspot (7730L) is I can also use it as an emergency battery pack to charge my phone.
A:AnswerIf you already have one of their unlimited plans yes you can. I added it on for $20 and get 15GB of unlimited data after that they CAP it. Now that they have three plans they each have their owj CAP. I use it at work for my laptop. It's fast and relaible and I use about 7-10GB a month. If you have a phone you can see if you have mobile hotspot and save $20 a month.
A:Answeryou have to get your Wi-Fi service through Verizon. If you buy this from them it will have a Sim card in it. Be prepared to pay $30 to get it activated though regardless if you get it in store or online. I have an unlimited plan and pay 20 bucks for 15 gig each month and it handles all the phones and tablets in the house.
A:AnswerYour cell phone hotspot is pretty much the same as this one but you do not have to use your cell phone battery and when your cell phone would leave the premises everyone would be booted off. With this hotspot you just leave it at your house and everyone can connect to it and you charge it once a day. I set mine up on a 24 hour timer with various intervals of charging and dont worry about it. You can also use it to power laptops and stuff while on the road on trips etc. where the hotel doesn’t have good service.
A:AnswerWe are currently in our rv using the mifi without issue. Some places are better than others but most of the time this works. We live in a rural area also and this is our full time internet. I would like to have unlimited data but this is the next best choice for us. Hope this helps.
A:AnswerThe jetpack has a guest wifi you can set up with a separate password. It uses a WiFI password and there's an Admin. Once it's set up, you can view and change security settings. You can opt to display the password on the screen.
A:AnswerYes this is a very good MiFI device with better cell reception from the previous versions and faster upload and download speeds via 4G. I connected my Apple TV to this device and was able to stream movies without buffering as it had a good connection to Verizon as my carrier. The real question surrounding any streaming service is going to be your cell carrier and more specific your data plan and your connection (cell coverage). Speeds will very depending on how good your coverage is. Assuming you have a few bars and are in a normal cell coverage area you should be good, you might want to calculate how much data you will consume with streaming as Verizon as an example will drop to 600kbps (check your plan) after your designated paid data amount so you might experience buffering or your browser or device might lower the quality of the video stream being delivered to you.
This device also has great battery life.
A:AnswerThis is a mobile jet pack. The antenna is internal. The power is from a USB C connector and like all USB is 5 V DC. If you want range, get a 3W linear amp booster. This receives a signal from the cell phone and boosts it to 3 Watts to hit a cell tower up to 50 miles away line of sight. The MIFI receives the Verizon wireless signal and changes it into a wifi wireless network signal.
I hope this answers your question.
A:AnswerThis particular one is on the Verizon network so no, not unlocked. Did a lot of research though and Verizon had the only unlimited plan. That's streaming, TV, music, movies etc no data limit for 94/month. I love it!
