• A:Answer Thank you for reaching out. The best buy title shows "DisplayPort USB" which means the DisplayPort protocol running through a USB-C connector. You can also read it as Type C DisplayPort Alt mode. This means it has the USB-C physical connector with the DisplayPort signal.

• A:Answer The monitor is equipped with a mini HDMI port and comes with a cable to full size HDMI. If the device only has male HDMI then you would need to adapt the connection to work with mini HDMI. My guess is this won't work out of the box with a "stick" device unless you can find accessories to adapt connection. This could work with a streaming box that has full size HDMI via provided cable but then you will have to power monitor over usb-c. Using a phone charger USB-C cable has worked for me (mainly I've used the USB-A to C cable from my laptop for power and provided mini HDMI cable for video from my laptop). The cleanest way to operate the device is power and video from laptop or device that supports video and power over USB-C. The provided USB-C cable in the box will allow that functionality.

Q: QuestionI own a Lenovo thinkcentre m73 and i am looking for a portable monitor for it. But it only has a display port and vga video out. Is there an adaptor that would work to change those over to what this needs or will it have to use a usb port?

• A:Answer Verifying the phone supports video out over USB-C would be the main thing to consider. Past that, I doubt the cellphone can power the screen directly with included USB-C cable. It may be necessary to use a phone charger to one the second USB-C connector on the screen for power, which limits the portability when in use. You could consider a battery bank for power if portability is the main focus.

• A:Answer I had to do this once, using the HDMI for display and the USB-C for power, using a 20 W power adapter. That’s what I had for the USB-C cable, so I don’t know about lower wattages.

Q: QuestionCan it be connected via/docking station, or only to the laptop? And does the laptop have to remain open to use the monitor? (I had one that only worked if connected to the laptop's USB-C power port, no other C port would work, & if the laptop was open.)

• A:Answer That would depend on your configuration. If you have configure your laptop power setting to turn off or sleep when the lid is closed then it won't work. The docking station would have to have the video/audio/power capable USB-C. Many docking stations do not have a thunderbolt/USB-C for video and only of data, check and see if your dock is capable of video output.

• A:Answer Looking at the HP listing for that model, it appears to have a USB-C port but only for power. As such, you will need two cables; a power and a video cable. You can connect the USB-C from the ViewSonic to the USB-C on the HP. Additionally, you will connect the mini-HDMI from the ViewSonic to the HDMI on the HP.
