- Answer I transferred my data from an older external drive to the new 5TB drive by simply USB connecting both drives to my laptop, then moved my files from my old device to my new device. It is pretty easy, but if you have many files or large files, it will take some time to transfer between devices initially, but once it is done, you will able to open your data in an instant.

QuestionIs it comparable with iOS Catalina on 2020 MacBook Air? I bought a different WD storage that was said to be compatible with iOS to learn it wasn’t compatible with Catalina.

- Answer Bob, sounds like you are missing a critical driver you need for it to work if it is complaining or your settings are not correct to allow operation. I would check your settings first since I don't think they are correct. Thinking something turned off that shouldn't be offset to another mode to enable another device you need to change back to defaults. I have not heard of these not working with Catalina. Check this out yourself first before contacting support.

- Answer Yes, this little hard drive will be capable of backing up your whole PC, assuming that you format it with exFAT and not NTSB (to increase the speed of the drive) and your PC's hard drive does not exceed 5TB. Should work fine for what you need it for!

- Answer It needs 5v power supply. I ordered powered usb hub and am going to try that with 5v power supply. My Archer C3200 would recognize it and give error (io error).

QuestionWill 5tb hard drive work with Windows XP?

- Answer Yes, this external hard drive should work fine with WinXP, but it will be very slow unless you've installed some kind of memory optimizer. This is also a USB3.0 compatible drive and I don't think that any WinXP systems were USB3.0 compatible unless you installed a USB3.0 card. This will be a very slow drive for your purposes. You might be better served by ugrading your PC and operating system.
