QuestionI'm looking for a receiver with wifi that I can play my itouch with. When this receiver says it will connect to internet, does it mean through hard wire or wifi? FYI, Bluetooth won't work because I am out on my deck (speakers are hard wired ) Thanks

QuestionDoes this reciever decode DTS-HD master audio??? Most movies are in that format, but it does not list that it can decode that.

- Answer yes once you hit direct the receiver will do the same , so anything you put in it will decode it !!

QuestionI have a Yamaha StagePas 600i that i use for Karaoke which works great. But its terrible for movies as the lows are too low and the sound is very muffled. Can I use this in combination with Stagepas to have better sound performance for movies?

- Answer A single rca cable is all that is needed. I set my sub this way and it works perfectly.

QuestionNoob here. Always had soundbars but finally looking to better my sound to wired. Will this receiver work with Definitive Technology pro monitor 1000 fronts, pro monitor 800 for surrounds, pro center 2000, finally a prosub 1000?

- Answer In a word...yes. It has plenty of power for just about any speaker. I'm using a Denon (5.1) receiver with a Definitive Technologies powered subwoofer. All the rest of my speakers are passive. I have a very large living room with a 10 foot ceiling and I'm getting all the volume I can ask for. For music, I'm using an M&K Goliath woofer and Visonik Davids for my front right and front left speakers. My surround spearkers are Paradigms mounted on stands at the rear of my living room. My Denon 5.1 receiver has less power than this Yamaha receiver, and I'm having no problems with playing music or movies at loud levels.

Questiondoes the receiver automatically decide what decoder to use? my old pioneer allowed me to control the decoder process, when i play music, i want control over that, if i want to switch from dolby pro to prologic 2, do i have total control of this AV unit?

- Answer The AV controller app is great for changing the decoder on your smartphone, or you can program a scene for a connection into memory.

QuestionWhen I switch from watching tv to a movie to playing my ps4 I notice that the sound coming out of the speakers changes. For example, the two side speakers will be the only speakers that provide sound when I watch TV. What is going on?

- Answer There are several DSP selections to choose from and many of them enable/disable various speakers. It is possible that the DSP for the TV is different than for the Movie which may account for the difference.

- Answer Daddyo, the 665w is not a model number, it is the wattage rating of the receiver. Same unit, Best Buy has a habit of throwing in the wattage next to the manufacturer without explanation!
