• A:Answer Hello, Yes, Remove and clean by hand or in dishwasher using a non-phosphate detergent. Discoloration of the filter may occur if using phosphate detergents, or as a result of local water conditions - but this will not affect filter performance. This discoloration is not covered by the warranty. Spray degreasing detergent and leave to soak if heavily soiled. Dry filters and re-install before using hood. The recirculating kit for this model is part # ZRC-0012. Thank you for your inquiry! -Zephyr

• A:Answer Hello, For AK12, an air recirculation kit (optional) must be purchased before using the hood in recirculation mode. Recirculation kit - ZRC-0012. This can be uninstalled to switch back to the vented option. Installing and uninstalling a recirculating kit requires the use of a Phillips head screwdriver. Thank you for your inquiry! -Zephyr

• A:Answer Best Buy installed it wrong and it came crashing down while I was cooking, ruining the meal. They had used only 4 short screws to install this hunk of metal. I will never use Best Buy for installation again!

Q: QuestionCan this hood be installed without being under a cabinet? I want the back wall with my quartzite to be unobstructed. There is no cabinet above to put the hood under! I just want a very small sleek hood.

• A:Answer Hello, please refer to page 10 of the Use and Care Manual for Mounting Height, Clearance, & Ducting instructions. A minimum 3-1/4”x10” rectangular duct for either vertical ducting or horizontal ducting must be used to maintain maximum air flow efficiency for the AK12.
