    The ARRIS - SURFboard DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem enables up to 1.4GBps data transfer rates off cable internet services that support high speeds. I installed it in Truckee CA and the cable speed went from 192MBps to 498MBps. It handles up to 32 simultaneous channels down and 8 up. I tested the speed using a Pakedge RK-1 gigabit router and an Ethernet wired connection to a MacBook Pro.

    It's always worth buying one of these modems to save yourself the rental fees most ISPs will charge you. They pay for themselves in less than a year. So far the SURFboard has allowed me to easily maintain speeds over 200mbps with Spectrum and saved me about 200 dollars and counting.

    I use this modem with Mediacom service. It is much faster speed than the one that I was renting and I have 200 Mbps service. I use this with an Apple Airport and it works great! I also like that it has an energy saving feature for when there is little activity.

    I own this modem and it’s performance has been great despite the extreme usage. It works so well I decided to purchase one for a family member to help improve their internet performance (and it did).

    Does the job. It does look better than most in its class since it is white in color and smaller if it is going to be displayed or left out in the open somewhat. ARES has some known issues with its older models (not this one I don’t think) that still goes on without them really ever addressing it. Also support is pretty pointless, they will just blame yourself ISP for coding the modem wrong and make you call them after being on hold forever.
