Customers love the ROG Gaming Desktop's powerful graphics card and its overall performance for gaming. However, many have expressed concerns regarding its cooling system and the included RAM, citing issues with heat and insufficient capacity. The power supply has also drawn criticism for being underpowered for the system's components. While storage space is generally well-received, some users found the case design to be suboptimal.

Ok. This is actually a pretty good deal for 1500 bucks. An RTX 3070 with an 11700F is pretty powerful for that price. There's a few things I'd like to point out to anybody buying this. First of all, the RAM and the CPU cannot be overclocked, meaning your CPU is stuck at 2.5GHZ when its rated to be overclocked to 5.3 I believe, and the RAM is stuck at 2133MHZ. Buying additional ram for this is a waste of money. The cooling systems aren't the greatest in this, and while I understand the need to save a bit of money on a build like this, the case is not that great. It came with 1 stick of 16 gigabytes, so it doesn't come with dual channel memory. The power supply isn't that great either, bronze. If you're just the average gamer who needs a computer with a really good graphics card, this is a great deal. For people who want actually good performance and possibly good upgradability in the future, this is a terrible computer and would not recommend it. I'm not happy with this build and kind of feel cheated out of my money, being that most of this stuff wasn't listed as specifications, or at least I didn't see them. It's a good quality build by someone who seems to know what they're doing, and designed by people who don't really seem to care. In my opinion, if it were just overclockable at the very least, this would be a much better value.

I bought this after reading reviews on it and I can honestly say I really enjoy it. I added the two 16 gb for ram , but haven’t got any new fans yet. I play games like elite dangerous and American trucking sim and haven’t had any problems with it. And the fans have not been very loud , only once in a while. I still want to replace fans in the future, but for now I’m good. And also, I’ve had no problems with heat. This is my first gaming pc , and I’m happy I got it. I added the Logitech 400 w thx speakers and a 34 inch Samsung odyssey g5. I’m lovin this thing.

This is the trashiest PC to ever be built. I began systemically replacing parts after ASUS refused to honor their warranty without depriving me of my system for 20-40 days! As I began replacing parts on my own (at my cost) I found that the system had a 6 year old workstation motherboard in it. The RTX video card was sub-standard and overheated. Everything about this system was trash. I effectively put $1700 in the trash and lit it on fire. I will never use ASUS again. It's been 100% replaced at my loss, and ASUS gives zero cares.

Best part of the system? If you value out the components, you're getting a 3070 for close to MSRP. Worst part? It's LOUD, and it runs hot in spite of it. The tower itself is rather appealing to look at. The LEDs are customizable and controllable with ASUS' software. It comes with a metal side panel which is vented, and an acrylic panel which only vents through the gaps. Neither are adequate solutions for airflow. The tower is somewhat narrow, so expect issues if you decide to try and fix the airflow with a nice CPU cooler or Noctua case fan. The CPU itself is an i7 11700F, which is more than enough speed to keep up with the 3070 and modern gaming. The cooler is miserable, tiny, and just barely does the job of keeping the CPU in safe ranges under load. Idle temps are in the 78-80C range. For perspective, my i5 12600k runs at about 75C under load. The memory is a joke, some cheap 16gb stick high latency garbage that doesn't even have a heat spreader. It's only the one stick, so you don't even get dual channel support. Be prepared to buy a decent 16gb kit if you're not upgrading from an existing DDR4 setup. The SSD appears to be a Western Digital nvme... I haven't tested speeds, but expect somewhere in the 1800mb/s read/write range, if the raw numbers are important. In practical terms, loading anything from the nvme is about as instantaneous as any other nvme. If you're used to hard drives, you'll notice the difference. If you already had a SSD, you probably won't notice aside from Windows booting 5-10 seconds faster. On the hard drive, it's a basic 3.5" 5200rpm 2tb drive from what I can tell. Nothing extraordinary about it, maybe 120mb/s read/writes with the usual HDD levels of latency. Avoid putting your modern games on it and you'll be fine. The motherboard is an ASUS B560M Wifi from what I can tell. Single PCI-E x16, single x4, two nvme slots, four RAM slots. Built in 802.11AC wifi and Bluetooth. Without taking the GPU out to check, it appears to have either 2 or 4 SATA connectors. Not especially feature rich, but adequate to the intended hardware. The power supply is a semi-modular(?) 500W. Nothing else to say about it. Not a good power supply, but not some knockoff sparkbox from what I can tell. Seems to have adequate power for the system as a whole, but I didn't try stress testing it with the 3070 due to high temps. The GPU I got lists as an ASUS RTX 3070, GA104 A1, non LHR with Samsung memory. Dual slot, single turbo fan design which is generally pretty quiet, but has the ability to move air like a jet... and the noise to match. I've got it running stable (12+ hours testing in Bright Infinite Raytracing benchmark) at 850mv with a rock solid core clock of 1830 and memory running with a 1400mhz overclock with a TDP of about 135W. Average temperature under load is 77-78C. All in all, I'm not mad at it. I purchased the system to get the GPU. My wife likes the way the tower looks and frankly needed an upgrade. I popped a 6600XT in it, so there's less power draw and heat. I had already upgraded from an i3 system so we had some components like RAM to move over. Only real complaint is that most of the system feels like the cheapest acceptable option, and as a result runs hot and loud. Realistically, in this market, not a bad deal. Cooling sucks, otherwise, solid enough hardware.

Pros: *As of 2/13/2021, an RTX 3070 alone is going for about $1,300+ alone thanks to the absolutely insane price hikes seen in the GPU market as of late, so the overall price of this rig is a bargain. *Build comes with two side panels. One side panel is a standard metal panel with ventilation holes, and the other panel is a translucent plastic panel that shows off the inside of the build and its RGB lighting. *Performance is extremely good for 1080p gaming from my tests. Card is easily able to get 120+ frames in almost any game I throw at it, albeit with some modifications which I touch on slightly later. *Overall storage of 2.5 TB is perfect for a hefty game library, work or school files, and programs or emulators. Installation of new hard drives is easy, as the motherboard has space for an extra NVME SSD and SATA port for an extra HDD or similarly sized SSD Cons: *The thermal design on the stock build is laughably poor at best and intentionally bad at worst. There are no holes for ventilation in the front of the case, no front fans for compensation, and either panel shipped with the computer does very little for ventilation. The front of the case DOES seemingly have ventilation cutouts from the pictures on both ASUS' website and Best Buy's website, but in person those vents are only decorative. Even if they were actual ventilation holes, there's a thin sheet of plastic that covers the inside of the front casing, most likely to keep the RGB lighting installed in place. The CPU cooler included is also a stock cooler, which doesn't exactly help manage decent temperatures in a build with high framerates and almost no cooling. According to other users, this stock configuration can lead to temperatures in the 50 - 78 degree Celsius range in the BIOS alone. I didn't power my tower on until making my own modifications, so while I can't prove or disprove these claims personally, it would be more than reasonable for any rig to reach the dangerously high temperatures with the poor cooling solutions found in this build with all of its stock parts. *The included power supply is a 500W unit and is Gold-rated. While the Gold-rating is indeed great for indicating the reliability and efficiency of the power supply, its wattage is too low for a 3070 build, with NVIDIA recommending at least a 650W power supply for optimal performance. *While the RAM included is indeed 16GB, the RAM is all on a single stick. While not sounding that bad to newer PC gamers, having two sticks of RAM with 8GB each as compared to just a single stick with 16GB means that the bandwidth that the CPU has to work with is essentially doubled, allowing for significantly better RAM performance overall, a must for gaming-oriented builds like this. *While this is more just a pet peeve of mine, the included CPU, the Core i7 11700F, has no onboard graphics, so if your GPU goes bad, you're a bit out of luck until you can get a new card installed. Again, it's just a minor nagging point I thought I would bring up here, just so people are aware and aren't confused why their new computer isn't showing up on their monitor when plugging it into the HDMI port located on the motherboard, as some may try. Overall Thoughts: To be honest, this is a great build for the cost that's held back by just a couple, albeit serious flaws. If you're willing to spend more to ensure that the computer doesn't grill itself over time, I think the price is still worth it as compared to buying the parts you would need for similar performance in the wake of silicon shortages and price hikes as everyone and their JPG of a monkey is trying to make some quick cash through crypto mining, GPU scalping, or both. I would definitely recommend a Micro-ATX case or bigger with a mesh-like front and support for three front case fans for optimal air intake, a new CPU cooler (and new thermal paste just to be safe), a 750W Bronze power supply at minimum (preferably from a name brand to play it extra-safe if you do get a Bronze-rated PSU), and 2 identical 8GB sticks of RAM so you aren't limited to single-channel RAM. After implementing these fixes myself, I was able to drop the idle BIOS temperature from the mentioned 50 - 78 degrees Celsius to a mere 15 - 21 degrees Celsius, and I haven't seen my graphics card get past 63 degrees Celsius, even coming right off of Ray Tracing-extensive games, with the temperature dropping back down to~21 degrees Celsius in 45 - 60 seconds. And in all of this, the collective fan noise never exceeds 35 - 40 decibels of noise when taking readings right up against the system. If you're able to make those key improvements and essentially treat this as a starting point for building your own computer, this is *going to be* an excellent system for anything you can throw at it, and will remain that ways for years to come. However, for those who may not be as skilled with PC building to attempt these improvements, it may be a better move to look at other pre-built systems in all honesty.

At first I thought it was too good to be true, but I still gave it a shot. Got my desktop to play Elden Ring on day of launch. Just 6 days later the GPU hit the bed and call it a day. I was in the middle of playing, I got up to make my self some food and boom came back to a super pixeled screen/pattern of blue and purple. Tried to restart and now it was no longer detecting my second monitor and getting white lines through out the main display. So please stay away from this. Not worth the head-ache or the heart-ache

Overall I’m fairly happy with the purchase. The system itself is a defect build thus far. 512gb SSD is pretty standard these days, and though 1TB SSD would’ve been nice, the fact that we have a 2TD HDD added on is a fairly nice trade off in my opinion. I know the prior model had some complaints on heat but this unit seems to dissipate heat fairly well without getting to any sort of dangerous levels. Albeit it may get a touch loud for some people when it’s additional fan kicks on to pass heat, however it’s not really something that bothers me a whole lot, as I keep my system below my desk anyways. Lastly, the separate “air chambers” the build features aren’t just a gimmick statement either, it genuinely helps with the airflow as well. The “glass” side panel that you can put on in the stead of the standard metal plating side, is nice. Note there is a small gap between the system and the glass and it is meant to be that way. You didn’t do anything wrong lol, I’m assuming to maybe help with heat dispersion since the metal plating that comes stock, has vents to breathe, and if you had the glass seal tight against the system, that could definitely make things heat up worse. My one main complaint. Seems to be real hit or miss with pre-built gaming rigs these days…the single channel ram stick. Why ASUS? You guys are my trusty faithfuls of the gaming world but ya let me down a bit on this. It’s a single 16GB stick. Modern gaming rigs today should NEVER be stock single channel. 2x8GB sticks is a night and day difference in the demand of todays gaming and just general PC performance. Overall it’s a fairly minor fix and you can snag 2x8 for like $60-$70 or even 2x16 for about $130 right from Best Buy as well (as I did). The $1650 for the system is honestly a good price and value for the setup in this system, so that small added expense isn’t a huge deal, but something to note for those who care. Power supply is a 500w which may be alarming to some people who see that NVIDIA recommends a base of 650w I believe for an RTX 3070. Depends on who you talk too, but I’ve never put much stock into NVIDIA base recommendations and usually go off PSU calc online. Newegg’s calc is known for overestimating needed usage and comes up about 425w recommended, so I’m not overly concerned. Granted PSUs are also a cheap thing and ASUS could’ve done a bit better with that and gave us something more in the 600w range for a little more head room. Overall I’d give the build a solid 4 stars. Not because it won’t perform well, cause it performs excellent. But ASUS just cheaper out a tad bit in some smaller “quality of life” expectations I would have from a company that brands themselves as the “Republic of Gamers”. I love ASUS products, and I still think highly of them overall, but dual channel ram and a slightly higher rated PSU would go a LONG way towards really bumping up the quality of this build, for relatively little added cost on their end. Granted for an extra $150-$200 on the customers end they could make those changes themselves and have it up to par but I also understand that people don’t always have that additional money after spending $1650 on a PC they just bought and expect to be ready to go out of the box. To be clear, the PC is GREAT as is and does no NEED those additional changes. It’ll perform very well for you out of box. But as a whole, I just felt it was important to iterate the small cost it would’ve taken in ASUS end (or yours) to really add a LOT of quality and value. 9/10: ASUS, ya didn’t disappoint. Thank you.

Pro: Does everything for 95% of the Games and book work, artwork that has been thrown at it. I only run @ 1080x res and even the heaviest games at setting ULTRA still kick out 70+ FPS. Con: Cooling is debatable. FIx: I replaced the top mount CPU cooler with an Noctua NH-D9L. Dropped 10deg at max usage. Drilled holes in the front lower part of cover which allowed the intake of air ( with a small fan set at angle to allow cooling Video Card and circulation to the interior chassis. Using MSI and Asus Tweaking Programs, I verified that the overall temp dropped aggressively at low end and I was able to adjust the curves for fans to support even more overhead power. NOTE: 500psu semi modular by Great Wall is what came in the G10CE and I have had no troubles at all.

It is a decent rig. For the price there are much better options but if you don't have the money up front and have bad credit, this is a decent option through the leasing option which is what I did. I had issues with the graphics card and had to send it in to get fixed. They replaced the graphics card. I was a huge ASUS fan but this has made me less of a fan. I already need a new rig to meet my gaming needs. 16GB is not enough for Eco alone. I like to watch netflix and game or maybe even run a couple of different games sometimes. I also max out the processor sometimes. I have a rig I spent $3k on in 2013 that easily outperforms this PC from 2022 I use to run a server still today 24/7. This just isn't the rig to meet my needs and at a price tag of $1.5k it is kind of sad. Go spend $3k on a real gaming PC if you have the money. This is definitely a good option for people in my position though.

I didn't review this product right away because I wanted to give it time to see how it performed. We purchased this computer around May 2022. It always stays updated and it's shut off each night when not in use. The Good: In the beginning it's been a great pc. The fans weren't as loud as some reviews I have read and the air flow seemed to adequate because it didn't overheat. I use it for work so I really only have 2 other programs installed. The only two games that I play are Warzone and World of Warcraft. I ran graphics around 8/10 for almost all of my time and it performed well. Not much noise and fps stayed consistent. The Bad: In October it started doing a power cycle (least that's what I was told). It was just periodic, 1x or 2x time a day (or sometimes skip a day) at any given time, whether reading an email, surfing the web or in a game (it was just annoying). No real apparent reason. Finally at the end of January I made the call to geek squad. Took it in on the 5th of February. Explained the situation. They ran it through tests, it passed, stated they couldn't get it to do it (side note I went in and check event viewer and it did happen on Tuesday 7th when they had it) and suggested I check my power strip, outlet for issues. They had it for 5 days. I brought it home, changed power strips (didn't work), changed outlets (didn't work). Outlets tested and are ok. Finally just did the factory reset (didn't work either). Still having the same issue. If it wasn't for this "power cycle" issue, I would have given this product a 5 star.

I bought this computer February 2022. I was absolutely in love and had no issues until November 2022 when I would a get blue screen flash (so I could never get the code to see what was wrong) and a restart. I did scannow and repaired some corrupted files but then when starting up my computer it would give me black screens. I took the side off and realized power supply is only 500 & the exhaust fan isn't spinning. I also notice when watching 2 streams on twitch and listening to music in discord takes up 100% of my ram. I have reinstalled windows and it still flashes the blue screen or doesn't display on my screen every once in while. I will have to replace some things on this computer in order to continue to game and stream. :(
