Unreliable monitor fails in less than 2 years

This screen has been an unreliable screen from day one. First, when I set my video card to send 10 bits per color channel to get 30-bit color which is how you get billions of colors instead of the customary 8 bits of color which was sufficient when we used to used CRTs with their much more limited color gamuts, everything is mixed with gray. My old Dell monitor handles 10 bits per color from the same video card with no problems at all. I had to settle for 8 bits per color channel. Second, after less than two years, this monitor started to display pixels which were pink in areas that are supposed to be gray. Using a different video card, using the monitor's other input ports, and using different cables and getting the same problems proved that the problem is in the screen. Third, this is my second screen of this model. The first one was dead on arrival. Do not buy this model.

    Beautiful Monitor - Returned

Truly a beautiful monitor. I do photo editing but this monitor only supports two custom calibrations. That by itself is a problem. Most importantly, the color calibration software is of poor quality trying to get it to function. On my Mac, I had to try four different versions of the calibration software to even get it to do one calibration. Then when I went back to re-calibrate, the software would no longer validate the calibration. It was WAY off. Support by BenQ was of little help. Brought it back. Guess the old adage of "you get what you pay for" is true. Some people have had better luck. I just can't spend all that time trying to get their calibration software to work. If they can eventually get their act together, it will be a terrific product. Many others have had the same complaints. I was going to be different. Good luck with that!

    Best value for the quality

This is a solid 4K HDR display for high-end color grading, retouching and photography. The ability to switch between true AdobeRGB, sRGB and B&W is a huge time saver if you are working across different media. The calibration ability/flexibility is excellent, and fit beautifully into my color management workflows. Working with professional color over the past 25 years,...the days of the niche $5000+ monitors are gone. BenQ has definitely brought commercial grade quality to the consumer market.
