I needed a new, inexpensive printer for everyday use. I have a higher-end Epson for my art printing needs, but don't want to burn through ink on that one for printing documents, emails, etc. I liked the price of this printer and the "up to 1 year of ink" concept. I haven't been using it long enough to really judge the ink use (it sat in the box for a couple of months before I set it up), but it seems to be on track to give me about a year's worth. It was easy to connect wirelessly to my Windows 10 PC, and the print quality is good. I was pleasantly surprised that it can handle card stock, although it sounds like it isn't too happy about it. The scanner is fine, I don't use it much, since I have another scanner for my artwork. My only complaint is the paper tray, it needs a bit of finesse to remove & replace it. It doesn't dock very easily.

This unit does everything I need it to do, and its size is ideal for the space I have. I have always trusted Brother products for their quality and dependability, and MFC-J1205W is no exception. The INKvestment concept is one of the best provisions of ink on the market today. This unit fills its niche optimally.

Great printer. I had some much trouble with my last HP printer that I threw it in the trash and went and bought this Brother and I am happy with. I was going to be on my third HP replacement printer and I had had enough. I will never buy a HP printer again. I have owned them for 30 years but now they are trash!!!!!

I don't usually review a product as soon as I start using it, but I will make an exception on this printer!! It is fabulous!! Prints so fast right now I am happy because it took me a while to pick out a new printer, read so many reviews, checked prices of ink, and I am happy with my choice. Don't hesitate to buy this printer. It is worth every penny!!!

Needed a small printer dedicated to the upstairs laptop, which niche this fills well. Color is not outstanding and it wasn't as easy to set up as it maybe should have been, but for the price and functionality it serves its purpose.

I found printer to have easy setup. Connected 2 smart phones, 2 laptops and a desktop, without incident. Slightly slower printing than my HP but the response time on WIFI IS much faster. And it was considerably less expensive. Ink cost is much lower too!

It’s a great printer with awesome quality. The reason that I give A4 stars rating just because the Glossy paper doesn’t go through and the printer does a paper jam error. But other than that it’s a perfect printer

Good for the price, but lacks a USB port. Other then that, seems to be very reliable and has a surprising amount of features, such as cloud printing, borderless printing, and wifi.

If your not looking to print a lot or need high quality photos printed. This is the printer for you. Easy to use and is a great product.

Prints fast in blank and white, and in colors. The only disadvantage is if you are going to print double sided is a mess.
