An hour of power for modem+router

I had long wanted battery backup for our internet so that my wife could continue an online (e.g. Zoom) meeting during a power failure without interruption and end it gracefully. I could not figure out from the info available online just how long the backup would last given the volt/amp rating of the system ( I saw estimates ranging from a few minutes to a few hours). So when this unit when on sale I bought it mainly for calibration purposes, to see how many minutes of backup a 450VA system would give me. Since our laptop batteries last nearly 2 hours, we only needed backup for the cable modem and router. The total wattage of those units was about 22.5 watts, and this system powered them for an hour and ten minutes. The box the unit came in also has a useful table on the outside, showing how long the power would last given the power consumption of what is being backed up. I could not find that info online, either in the tech specs or the summary product description on the Best Buy website. As the wattage of the devices being backed up increases, the length of time that that the backup power lasts goes down sharply. No wonder that the online estimates ranged from a few minutes to a few hours.

Loaded it up so I know it will be good for about 15 minutes. Bought for bumps and surges. Printer, switch, two monitors and a computer. I have had two power bumps already. The lights in the house went off and on but the computer equipment stayed on without even a fade in power. It has paid for itself already. Normally buy APC but so far I am completely satisfied and I saved $10.

During storms, our power frequently “blips” - going out fo a few seconds at a time. While not generally an issue, this is highly annoying if watching TV as it causes the Roku or other streaming device to entirely reboot, often losing your place in the show. Enter this battery backup. I typically use larger backups (size and voltage) for my computer equipment, but it’s hard to put these in an entertainment center and they aren’t really needed for this type of application. This CyberPower device is the right size to tuck away in a (larger, to be fair) entertainment center and provides enough boost to get through these power blips without any resets. It works, doesn’t get in the way and doesn’t make itself known. Highly recommend.

Solid product and price. Works as advertised, got to test it already this winter! Half the spots are battery plus surge protection, the rest only surge protection.

Easy to use and setup. Plug it in, wait a few hours, use with your stuff that you really don't want to shut-off unexpectedly. Power outages and surges happen with little or no warning but this will allow you to save and shut down programs to avoid damage or data loss. I have one for both televisions, computers, landline, and internet equipment. Plenty of outlets on the battery back-up to plug in multiple items. Lots of protection and convenience for not a lot of money. Good Value.

I have only owned this particular UPS for just about a month. It is the third Cyberpower UPS that I have owned but, this is the most basic of the three as it has no LED or LCD screen to tell you about the state of the UPS. However, I only bought this one as a safe-guard for the new TV I bought at the same time as this (in case of power outages and surges to protect the circuitry). Since only half of the inputs are both surge protected and backed up by battery you do want to take care that you are plugging in to the correct side with anything that you feel should have the benefit of having battery backup. As long as this works as it is supposed to when the power goes out I expect it to be of the same quality as the previous two Cyberpower battery backups that I own,

Thought I was prepared with a automatic whole house generator. When the local Power Company. Experienced over 2 weeks of intermittent power failures daily. What you don't think about is that delay of 30 seconds. Between loss of power and generator taking over. That causes hard shutdowns of your system. This system is able to keep my desk top, printer and modem. All powered like nothing ever happened. Till the Generator can kick in so no more hard crashes. $45 upfront is a great investment. Compared to the cost of replacing or repairing sensitive electronics. Plus the built-in surge protection gives a piece of mind.

Solid choice for a surge, protector and backup battery. It doesn't have any fancy bells and whistles, and you cannot use it as a UPS but for the price, it's worth it.

I have UPS Backup batteries all over the house. Everywhere there's electronic equipment there's a UPS. I have three (3) in my home office and needed one more. I'm not too particular on brand as I am on quality. I'd never heard of CyberPower, so when I noticed how reasonablly priced they are I had to do my research. I read a ton of reviews from Best Buy and the OEM in addition to the runtimes. So, I decided to take the leap of faith and go with an "unknown" brand. About two weeks after purchase we had some pretty bad weather and my power was flickering and later went out. I'm happy to report, this battery held up and I was able to continue to work without any interruptions. The lights were back on in less than 15 minutes and it continued to power my work laptop/docking station and three (3) monitors. The runtimes listed on the box are just an estimate. Depending on how you use your battery will determine how long it will last when truly needed.
