Saved my wife's work.

We were afraid it was all gone forever when the laptop had soda spilled on it, but they saved everything. Great Job

Just keep in mind if you have a lot of data it does take time. but we were well pleased with the outcome

Great service

The Geek Squad took care of the transfer efficiently and there was no data loss from the prior computer.

Transfer Files

Geek Squad eases transfer of files to new laptop!

They handled the transfer quickly and accurately. I was concerned that I might lose some valuable files if I attempted the transfer myself.

Data transfer from old laptop

All my photos and documents were successfully transferred to my new laptop in great order. The motherboard on my old one died and I only had back up on thumb drives. This service was seamless and such a convenience. Highly recommend.

A good experience, another time not so good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A few years back I had this done with a laptop that died (motherboard) and the transfer went well.Another time years later I had a damaged lap top and they told me it would be no problem to transfer and when I showed up they told me they couldn't do it and my only option was to spend $600.00 to transfer..I didn't do it and still have laptop..i'm sure if I brought it somewhere else they could do it for a reasonable rate..almost seemed like they didn't want to bother with it..unimpressed.

It sounds like this drive may be in considerably poorer health than the first one, which our Agents should be more than happy to diagnose. If the internals are damaged and unable to provide a stable stream of data, there may be a call for advanced backup techniques, which can sometimes entail disassembly in a clean room. Data recovery

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although it was a Best Buy tech that caused the loss of my data, the recovery went well and most was restored. With a couple hours of editing I was able to facilitate about 80% recovery, thanks to the tech that did this process with me.

Maybe a sliding scale depending on the amount of data to be transferred

Purchased portable back.

When I asked what I had to do to get it to back up. I was told to just plug it in. Obviously not the correct answer. Now I have to make an appt to have someone teach me how to use it. Very disappointed. I have used Geek Squad since it conception. I have recommended it to friends. I have always used the Best Buy in Aventura, Florida. I am now in DeLand , Florida and am totally disappointed in the attitude and work ethics of the Daytona Beach Geek Squad. I would not recommend them.

Backed up my data

I have a backup with Carbonite but wasn't sure I'd be able to do it successfully so I'm glad they have this service. I did have to go back as I was missing one item and they took care of that for me.
