It's so easy to navigate and manage my tasks in this computer! I would recommend it to anyone.

I wanted to get a new PC to get windows 10 without the bells and whistle (touch screen) and priced low. I got the laptop and am happy with the performance and the fact it has a DVD drive, LAN plug and HDMI out. I'm not a big fan of the touchpad but I usually am using a mouse so it's not a big issue for me. I'm thinking of updating the RAM to the max but the 6GB is enough to get the job done for pretty much all I do. For the price I am very happy with this laptop.

I just got this computer yesterday, and at first I was not too sure what I thought of it. The one I had previously was quite old, I got it the end of 2008. So, in comparison this one was much lighter to me. For laptops now, it's almost considered heavy at about 5.5 lbs, but I think it feels like air. The overall computer is bigger than mine was previously, although the screen size is about the same. It took me a little getting used to the keyboard, but now it's starting to grow on me. I have not used it yet, but am excited to have a keypad, as that was one thing I always disliked about laptops. The mousepad on this is much bigger than the one I had previously. I do agree it does seem a bit in the way and I have not yet figured out how to scroll down a page using it either. But eventually I will probably get a wireless mouse anyway. The one thing I absolutely do not like, but more of just a personal preference, is the shiny cover. It is one of those surfaces that attracts everything. Hair, dirt, fingerprints, and being black is going to show it all too. The main reason I picked this one was I was actually still wanting a cd/dvd drive. But, for the price it also came with a decent amount of memory and the processor I was looking for. Overall, for the price (I got it on sale for $479), I cannot complain. This computer does all I need and more. In comparison to my old one, which was not really functioning well any longer because it was operating on Vista still, this computer is almost a dream. I'd recommend this computer for those looking for a decent computer without spending a fortune. At least for those individuals who use their system mainly for general at home use such as internet, emails, word processing and storing photos.

This laptop, my first, is so fast, it could run 4 simultaneous circles around my old desktop. It's light enough I don't feel like I'm carrying a brick and it's just small enough to fit into some tight spaces at work (like on top of a control cabinet while programming a PLC); yet the screen has excellent resolution and the keyboard fits my chubby fingers; the Wi-Fi works real well (5 Ghz!) so I can go completely wireless. However, it's not perfect: the touchpad is a little overly sensitive, and it could use a few more indicator lights. Overall, a really good machine.

Trying to balance functionality/wish list items with price, @ sales prices (-$100) I thought this was a decent purchase. Didn't have lit keyboard or touchscreen, but did have DVD drive for watching movies. Wasn't willing to spend the $150+ to get those features. Works well, very little hassle.

I bought this lap top exactly two weeks ago and I think I made the right choice. I am a teacher and needed a lap top for my lesson plans,evaluations and general browsing. This lap top fits perfectly to my requirements. It has a 6 GB memory and a 1TB hard drive which gives me reasonable speed and also lot of storage . I was also looking for a lap top that will have DVD +/-RW drive and I got all of this in this lap top. It is a little heavier than the others I was considering but then with a DVD drive included and the other features there couldn't have been a better options. Yes the top being glossy it leaves finger prints but I was preapred for this as I had read reviews before deciding on this lap top. It is going to take a little time to be switch to windows 8 from windows 7 but I am getting there. My only concern is that I reserved my windows 10 with Dell but it hasn't come yet.hopefully it will come soon and I can upgrade to windows 10 fast. I would have given a five rating but the finger prints on the cover (may be an issue for many ) and delay in windows 10 upgrading is not meeting my expectation. The impression I had got before buying that the upgrade will be instant.

I have had this computer for about two weeks now. The price that Best Buy sells this laptop for is very competitive, and an all around great deal. I have just done the Windows 10 update on this computer and it installed without a hitch. This update makes this computer an even better deal. Just a few observations about this computer: As another reviewer has already mentioned, there is only one indicator led on the side of this machine, so you don't get any real feedback concerning such things as battery life, disk usage, and so on. The computer also boots up rather slowly (especially with the new Windows upgrade). It is possible to upgrade the hard drive in this laptop with a solid-state drive (SSD) however, to reduce boot times and increase performance. The black plastic finish on the outside of the computer is bound to scratch up very easily. I wish that Dell had decided to use a matte finish that would hide scratches much better. I am happy with my purchase and you will not be sorry if you purchase this computer.

I bought this for my son, whose old laptop had completely fallen apart. We bought this laptop because of the amount of memory and storage i had and for its i7 processor. He loves it for gaming and watching videos.

This laptop was actually a surprise. Was looking for something for my son to play pretty demanding online games. The old desktop he was using just didn't have enough gas to run the games he and his friends play, so started to look for a cheap alternative to a new desktop build. This one went on a "black Friday" sale at a crazy low price for an i7 - WAY lower than what I could build or buy an equivalent desktop. So we took a chance (he was required to pay half:)), and it turned out really well. Great speed, more RAM and HD space than he will ever need to use, great display and very use-able keyboard and track pad. This one will last him for several years. Have had issues with Dell laptops in the past (including those I used while working there), but this one is a winner so far!

This computer is ideal for users who want a fast processor like the i7 for a low price and only need essentials like decent ram memory, hard drive space and modern interfaces. (HDMI, USB 3.0, Bluetooth, webcam, etc.)

I'm a paramedic student, I needed a laptop with enough speed and storage for a great library of resources (many with photos or videos) that I could always have with me and came across this computer. I've never had problems returning products I was not satisfied with at Best Buy before so decided to purchase. I didn't want to spend a lot of money in case it got stolen/damaged so the price got my attention. Storage is decent as I carry an external drive for much of my material anyway. I5 processor has enough power to get the job done. The only draw back was the low RAM but for less than $100 I was able install 16 Gig RAM at my local Best Buy. Definitely worth the money for the power and portability.

A great laptop. Cheapest i7 you can get. My only complaint is the 720p screen which I bought knowingly. The battery lasts for close to 7 hours with normal use. The integrated HD5500 is not great but is attequate. Can play most games on low-medium settings. The non-backlit keyboard is annoying but I can live with it. You pay for the power and compromise with most other things. If you are just using the laptop for web/ msoffice, get something you don't have to compromise with. If you need a lot of power and are on a budget, this is the laptop for you.

I got this product during the Black Friday in July sale and must say it was a spectacular deal for a computer with an i7 chip. I found the price of the CPU by itself was about the same price as this laptop with Windows included. I should mention the first one was shutting down randomly and needed to swap it for another but BB was accommodating and had a second one in stock. I spent an extra 80 on a 250 GB SSD and put windows 10 on and I was off to the races on a powerhouse laptop.

Bought this for my son for college. It comes with an i7 which is top of the line. I was worried about the weight but it is acceptable. Perfect computer for college work and allows the student to play games (once in awhile) with a fast chip. Memory is good and size of hard drive is perfect. Has an option to upgrade to Windows 10.

I was waiting for long to buy best laptop to gift it at home with minimum price range and with best configuration. I got it one day at bestbuy store. The performance and handling is awesome, light in weight, nice keyboard, good graphics, good battery life, etc,. This doesn't have touch screen and the same was not my requirement, coz such a big screen with touch haaaa no. I don't prefer or like. I think I will not change this laptop for many years from now...

This laptop does not have a touchscreen or the fancy all metal chassis that you find in many laptops, but boy does it make it up in the processor department. i7 can handle anything I have thrown at it, which included creating, editing multiple spreadsheets. Also I frequently play Star Wars Empire at War and it doesn't skip a beat. Overall an i7 laptop for $475 is a steal, for that price I can overlook the plastic chassis and the lack of touchscreen.

Laptop has a great amount of storage,and 6GB of ram. Great screen,colors, and graphics. And the i7 processor works very well. Great computer.

This is the laptop I was looking for and got in a very Good Price. Price and Touch screen was never a constraint to me at any time. I wanted a laptop with with good features to gift to my Dad. The performance and the speed is very good. Easy to use and also has a very good battery life. I brought it from the direct store at one glance no second thought to step back to return or regret for my CHOICE. It is the best laptop in small price. If you are looking something in i7 with No touch screen then I say GO FOR IT.

This is a good laptop at a good price. It has the fifth generation i7 and 6 GB ram for less than $500 (when I purchase it).

Had it narrowed down between two models (Toshiba&Dell), and the dales person gave a very unbiased opinion and helped me select the Dell. Very satisfied with the purchase. If best buy keeps these quality sales people, we will go to BB anytime. The machine runs like a horse! Loaded all programs I needed and I am happy with the speed. Upgraded to W10 and I love it even more.
