This thermostat was very easy to install. The instructions that came with it are very detailed. After installing it I had no trouble getting it connected to the app so I can control it from my phone. Ecobee has online reports to show usuage etc. You can easily set up schedules to automatically adjust temps for when your not home etc. I really like the fact it shows the weather in your area on the display. An added bonus was the local utility company offered a rebate for purchasing it.

I have had the ecobee3 lite Smart Thermostat for several weeks. It was relatively easy to install using the enclosed instructions and link it to my furnace that is about 10 years old. So far, the ecobee3 is very easy to use, and links very well with the app. It has been very easy to program and very easy to adjust settings using the app. I would definitely buy it again.

This is our first smart thermostat and it is exactly what we hoped it would be! Easy installation, works with HomeKit, and easy to set up schedules even while away. We left for a long vacation right after installing and it got cold at home so it was perfect for making sure we werent wasting energy while away but could come back to a warm home!

I had taken several months to learn about “smart” thermostats and with Best Buy it is now saving me money. There has been a glut of smart home products to hit the market and as I had recently had to replace my HIVAC system at home I thought a new thermostat might be a good place for me to start. Research and patience has paid off. This Ecobee 3 unit was well priced, a snap for me to install and with its many features is already saving money over this cold winter. Very pleased!

So let me begin by saying that I bought this to replace my old Nest 2nd generation. My Nest was great until Google decided to remove a few features. These features were exactly the reason I bought this and one of the reasons why I'm not sure I could recommend this to everyone. Let me be honest, this isn't a bad thermostat. It's controllable via an app for your phone, tablet, or computer through a browser. The controls are rather advanced and you can set up schedules as well as control and run the fans/blowers. Plus you can set the thermostat from anywhere with the apps. Where this thing fails is in what it's missing. You can't set up geofencing (the ability for your phone to tell the thermostat to turn off when you leave the house). And while this thing does work with voice assistants, certain features have been admittedly broken for months. For example, I used to be able to turn on the blower through my Google Assistant but now it no longer works and the company has no ETA to fix this. Alexa control is nice but is kludgy and HomeKit only works when it feels like it. HomeKit is a great feature when it works that other thermostats don't share. But mostly, it's only half of a good smart thermostat with so much potential. Overall, I don't hate this thermostat and I do plan to keep it but know that Ecobee isn't really ready for prime time. If they can fix the voice assistant problems, they might win. You can use IFTTT to fix some of the other glaring holes including a lack of geofencing. And, as I said before, it is a good thermostat. So would I buy it? Sure, but don't buy it if you find these missing features and problems a non-starter. The good: This is a thermostat. It does everything a thermostat does but it's wifi connected and can be controlled via voice (kind of). Control is easy and the design is good looking, at least in my opinion. And you can use sensors around the house to balance your AC and heat. The bad: Poor integration with voice assistants, hit and miss with HomeKit, no geofencing.

Super easy to set up and runs like a champ. Love controlling everything from my phone.

My wife and I have very different and varying schedules so I didn’t want my smart thermostat trying to guess my schedule and messing with the temp. This works great with Siri or Alexa and it’s reassuring to know your furnace or AC are working correctly when you’re traveling. Comes with printed instructions but just download the app and use that to install. So easy literally (almost) anybody can do it, plus most power companies give rebates for smart thermostats.

Excellent DIY thermostat. Easy to install if you have the 24V common wired to your HVAC. If you don’t, it does come with a harness to bypass the common wire. Unlike Nest, this Tstat is not a learning thermostat so it does integrate well with Apple Home Kit, Alexa, URC or ELAN. If you don’t have a control system, the Ecobee app also allows you to control your temp setting remotely.

It was very easy to setup and get working. Between the phone app and Alexa dialing the comfort zones was a breeze.

Our new home had a very outdated thermostat. I had been looking for a smart home thermostat but was scared to pay the price for this. Well, after being installed it is already on the way to paying for itself in savings on our electric bill! The programming is easy to keep a consistent schedule, and for homes with only one thermostat it is a breeze to change the settings via Alexa devices or my phone!

Purchased this thermostat for my father-in-law so that he could have better control over his new air conditioner. Installation was easy, however the first time wiring, I wired the white wire to Rh and the heater did not work. After reviewing the instructions, the white wire needed to be connected to O/B. My father-in-law can read the display and can also use his phone to see the display. He can easily make adjustments to the temperature.

Thermostat works great, and seamlessly connects with Apple HomeKit!
