Overall, the ET-3850 seems to be a pretty good value for double-sided, color printing. I did have some initial problems with the WiFi connection, but that may have been more about the signal strength than the printer. The flat bed scanner works great. I haven't used the automated document feeder.

Was looking to replace my old printer (home use) that was failing. After reading several reviews on various models/brands, I settled on this model. I especially liked the refillable ink cartridge feature. Set up was easy although I would recommend using the QR code method vs the manual. QR code method was clearer & easier than the manual method. Following the step by step as shown, it only took 15 minutes to set up. Part of that is a warm up period to initialize the print head. Connection to my router was a snap. Computer recognized the printer. Note: don't forget to make this printer your "default" or you'll be like me wondering why it wasn't printing. So far, very happy with this printer.

This printer is doing great so far! It isn't super fast, but it fits my needs perfectly. I really like that the ink won't dry out like the cartridges do in other printers. It takes up only a small amount of space in my tiny office.

I purchased this printer for home use and our first year homeschooling . It is an excellent printer and it is used daily. Copying and printing capabilities are great! It’s not too noisy , it prints very precisely and in a fast manner. I would highly recommend this printer because of the overall quality and yearly savings on ink!

    Good Printer/Scan/Copier with Some Issues

Good copier. Don't like the lack of a touchscreen and other issues that you need to consult the very long tech manual to understand. However, the print/scan/copier seems very reliable once you learn how to use it. Epson needs to find a good solution for how to protect the device when you need to leave it inactive for a month or longer.

Just replaced an older HP printer with this Epson printer. It was very simple to set up, phone app support is great, and installing on computers was great too. There were som slight delays in air-printing and WiFi device recognition, but those have been resolved easily. Now for how the product works; printing is great. We’ve only printed a few pages at a time so no real input on speed of multi page docs. Where I’m really satisfied with this product relates to scanning. I had to scan an older DD-214 (from 1960’s) and the detail of reproduction was flawless at 600 dpi setting. I am totally amazed of the output and I didn’t have to tweak settings to achieve these results. Definitely recommend this scanner printer to anyone in the market.

The best printer, so dependable, ink last forever and easy to refill after 5000+ pages. My first printer like this lasted 8 years and still going! Shag says it all, and he was 100% correct. The Best investment

I like the Epson printers. The refillable ink is a huge saving and can be done with ease. I've saved a lot of money compared to the HP I have previously owned.

It's a good printer with good quality printing, but it is very loud and not very fast at printing. Also, the description was wrong, it does not have a touch screen, which can be confusing when trying to navigate the menu.

So far this printer has checked all the boxes! I was looking for a multifunction printer that had a small footprint and most importantly had a low cost of ownership. I researched and read multiple reviews on multiple sites that gave me the information I was looking for...the estimated Cost per Printed Page. Based on my research most old school inkjets cost about $.05 to print a single page (this is an average based on total life of the cartridges required for a printer to function). The cost for the Epson Tank is about $.004 per page...again an average. This brings the total cost of ownership WAY down...no matter what you printed page volume is. I am expecting to not need additional ink for at least 12 months. Honestly, I'd be happy if that number is anything over six months. This product was packaged very well from the manufacture and shipping was super fast from Best Buy...as always. Setup and initialization is not the quickest and the printed alignment pages are hard the see as best. I had to take pictures of the each page so I could zoom in to see which choice was best...tedious to say the least. I am anticipating this will not need to be repeated frequently. Aside from the initial alignment challenges, I love everything about this printer...so far! It prints and copies when I need it.

Mom’s old printer was a nightmare, even if you are “techie.” This new Epson is SO simple, fast, great phone/device app, easy display, and the “ink tank” finally solves the most frustrating aspect of owning an inkjet printer.

This had all the bells and whistles I was looking for in a new printer. Love the Ecotank system. Was easy to set up, excellent print quality, and pretty fast. The only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars was the unintuitive menu system for copying for anything other than single copies. Scanner works great, and easy to use. Definitely would recommend it.

Needed a new printer/scanner/copier for home use as my older HP Inkjet All-In-One was burning thru cartridges and would not align the printhead successfully anymore. The HP was going thru paper and ink cartridges with frequent cleaning of printer head in order to get it to print, which became sporadic at best. I was able to get probably 10 years or more out of it, so can't really complain too much but was definitely overdue for a new printer. Did a lot of research reading various reviews of printers online before finally pulling the trigger on this particular model. Decided to give the ET-3850 a try as Epson seem to specialize more in printers and overhead projectors to my knowledge. Was looking to avoid a printer requiring costly cartridges also. Been pretty happy with the printer so far as it's definitely quicker than my previous HP. The Ecotank feature should help keep the ink cost down if the stated printed page numbers for ink bottles are fairly accurate. Pretty simple to refill with no ink mess, which was a concern of mine initially when using ink bottles. I don't operate a business, so the Fax feature was not an important consideration, as I may have only faxed one time if ever using the HP. Just wanted the Print/Scan/Copy functions for our use. Have had no issues with functions/operation at this time. No regrets so far with purchasing the ET-3850, and hopefully the longevity and reduced ink cost will bear out in the long run.

The Epson EcoTank ET-3850 printer is an easy install for a network printer. The character registration is clear and print speeds are decent. I find that the Supertank feature makes it easier to use with enough ink for major projects. I am truly pleased with my purchase.

We upgraded from the 2850 and we couldn’t be happier. Ecotanks are the way to go! Plus this can handle scanning multiple documents. Fast scans and fast prints! Helpful Fact: We just learned (but it’s kind of common sense) that you need to keep the color inkjets healthy by printing something that uses all the colors at least once a week. I found one of a million available color print test patterns or you can easily make one yourself. It doesn’t have to print full page, but enough to utilize the ink and lee the nozzles clear. Happy printing!
