Customers are saying
Customers have good things to say about the EcoTank ET-4850's print quality, ease of use, and straightforward setup. Many appreciate its compact size. While some users find the noise level a bit high and have experienced challenges with the document feeder and scanning functions, the positive feedback on printing and ease of use outweighs these concerns for most. A few customers also mentioned the printer's price point as a potential drawback.

Good but slow
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good but noticeably slower than the Workforce Pro series. Scanning in particular is really slow, as is double sided printing. Aside from that, it is definitely more compact than the Workforce Pro, and has the same decently solid build quality. We'll see if the cost savings in ink are worth the speed tradeoff.

disappointing
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this printer to replace one that had worn out. This one had great reviews and so we thought that we would try it. We are not happy with it at all. The print is not very good and the scanning experience had been a nightmare. The papers constantly get stuck and knocks the whole printer offline so that it won't even communicate with my computer. This happens constantly. So now I have to constantly babysit it. So disappointing. Would not buy this printer again.

I would buy again
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love having this printer. It would be great if it could do front and back scanning, but either way, it is worth buying.

Not worth the money
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We've had this printer for about 3 months. Many kinks and the printing quality is subpar. Especially for the price tag! When you scan multiple items together it goes crooked and jams every time. When you do front and back prints it jams. We are very unhappy with this printer.

Not the best
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer gets jammed a lot!! It will also freeze or not print some items that you send to it. I have issues with the adf scanning and printing, the papers will get stuck on page 1 and I will have to go one by one in the scanner instead.

Not a double sided scanner
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For almost $500, I didn’t even think to check if it did two sided scanning. Printing is slow, but I can deal with that. I really needed the two sided scanning function, but it’s too late to return so I’ll Just have to deal with it.

Ink for DAYS!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have no fear of ever running out of ink.The Epson EcoTank ET-4850 includes innovative new technology that allows users to see the levels of ink left in the wells. There is no more wondering how much ink supply is left and it does not require an app to view. Print quality is excellent. You can even print really good photos when using a high resolution picture and photo specific paper. Filling the ink wells is easy, quick and strait forward. Just be careful not to spill. The footprint is small considering all that it does with powerful features like fast print speeds, Wi-Fi Direct, Ethernet connectable, two-sided printing, scanning and faxing. Print quality in both color and monochrome provides a sharp image with no visible color transitions or bleed over. Set up is fairly strait forward and easy. It took less than 10 minutes with auto driver installation upon connection through my wi-fi network. If you're old school, you can also connect it through an ethernet cable to your network. The only issue I had was the document feeder and paper feed. It could have been the lower quality paper I used, but it did have a tendency to hang up in the feeds. It's expensive, sure, but worth it in the long run. For those who print often and a lot it's worth it. No more $50 ink cartridges to replace. Be sure to play with the setting when using the scanner. The default isn't the sharpest, Once dialed in, it scans very well.
