I was not able to print using the cartridge type printer and had to throw away lots of dried up ink. This "eco-tank" printer is perfect for one who has minimal demand printing. I usually only print my bank recon statement once each month and a few other things get printed. The ink levels are readily viewable for monitoring ink status. The ink does not dry out before I get the chance to use it. Its perfect for me. Thank you Epson!
