Great solution for no vent tight space
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.About one month daily use. Expectation is the key; this is not the same as separate units and is providing a solution for niche problems of small space and no vent. This unit looses a star for quality of controls. It was not cheap and to use a little sturdier switch assembly and knob unit would be expected and couldn't add much to the cost. This fit into our front compartment closet in our Cyclone 5th wheel but took a lot of patience and muscle aches. When they say 23.5 inches they mean 23.5-23.8 so make sure you have a solid 24 inches of clearance. Cycles flawlessly through wash and dry if you keep the loads reasonably sized. Basically we got rid of the hamper and clothes that come of they go right in and when about half full, which is every morning, we turn it on. It helps to remove clothes immediately after the dry cycle is complete and lay them out for finishing. The will feel damp but are not wet and will not dampen your bed if you lay them out. We do not use most of the features and have found that light and normal wash do just fine for our needs. Level adjustment is key as it will shake if not perfectly level and the load is not too big. We still get a lot of movement but to be fair it is not in the most stable position in our RV which will move a little anyways. Fairly quiet and would not wake a sleeping child or adult in another room. It does generate some heat so even though there is no direct vent, having a well ventilated room is advised. We also added an additional dehumidifier to the room to help control the moisture. With no real lint removal you will find lint both on the clothes as well as left in the machine. It is much less than you would find in a vented dryer which leads me to believe this is less damaging to the clothing but that is anecdotal. You will want to give clothing a quick look over before wearing for left over laundry bunnies as well as wiping out the drum and rubber grommet after every wash. We still take the quilts and other larger items to the fluff and fold but that is a small price to pay to avoid the coin-op laundry.

For being a small unit. It gets the job done.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We live full time rv. It fits perfectly in the closet. It does take 2hours and 30 min for a full wash and dry cycle. Its pretty heavy for just one person. So ask a buddy for help

Glad I purchased
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a 2 in one I would say this is pretty nice! If I do a clothes only load it normally dries in first drive, if I do a towels only load it needs a second dry, but that is to be expected with a steam dryer. All around a great purchase for my camper though!

Nice machine
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace a similar LG machine that had numerous problems during 7 years of ownership (it was not heavily used either). I was reluctant to buy another LG, but saw the new GE model and decided to go with it. Compared to the LG, this GE is much quieter and doesn't rumble during the spin cycle. Using the "Normal" setting, a load takes about 3-1/4 hours to wash and dry, which is faster than the old LG. Clothes can still come out wrinkled, which is a common issue with this type of all-in-one unit, but not too bad if the drum is only loaded about half full. If items are still damp at the end of a full cycle, the dryer on this GE can be run again for a little while to finish them off without having to go through another wash cycle first. The rubber gasket around the door opening is easy to clean with a baby wipe. Cleaning the filter is a little tricky -- so far I can't get all the water out by using the little drain tube first and some water leaks on the floor when unscrewing the filter. I have limited space in my condo for a washer/dryer. I couldn't find a stackable or laundry center style unit that would fit the way I want it to. So the all-in-one combo style is a decent solution for me. If you buy one, just do your homework first so you know what you're getting into (smaller loads, takes longer to do a load, sometimes clothes come out wrinkled). An advantage (aside from the space-saving aspect) is not having to remember to transfer a load from the washer to a separate dryer - just set it for a full cycle and you're done. Or maybe I'm the only person who's ever forgotten and left wet clothes in the washer overnight and had to wash them all over again. Overall, I'm pretty happy with this GE machine. Hopefully, it will be durable.

GE washer dryer combo
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great unit, still looking for the right load size to prevent wrinkles but overall dries well. Love that it is ventless and small. Takes about 3 hours beginning to end. Some people reports lint around the door, I do not have that issue. Run a vinegar wash to break down lint that may accumulate in the condenser as recommended. The filter door is a pain to open. Use a thin screwdriver and push down. Overall very pleased by my purchase.

Nowhere near as good as a typical washer and dryer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Rolled the dice on getting this for my small apartment after 3 years of not having a washer or dryer. Have trusted the GE brand despite it being new and having no reviews. The fact this both washed and dried, as well as ran off a 110 plug, 20 amps, and was electric and ventless seemed like a home run. Waited 2 weeks for it to come and couldn't contain our excitement and anticipation. Installed the day it came, followed all instructions, removed shipping bolts, hooked it up and leveled it perfectly. Ran the first cycle with just a few towels and a couple shirts and the problems started. Washed and tumbled just fine, but during spin cycle, my whole apartment started vibrating. Clocks and pictures on our walls rooms over were shaking. It was so loud that we knew in our guts immediately this wouldn't be a keeper and our own washer/dryer dreams were gone. It wasn't unbalanced, it is just far too forceful. The force that this spin cycle puts out on this washer is far too much for being a small little unit 1/3 the size of a full-sized normal machine. Massive design flaw. We suffered through 10 minutes of spin cycle noise and it started drying. Drying was quiet enough and would extract the moisture from the clothes and pump out the water. After a 2 hour dry cycle, it finally finished. When we pulled the clothes out, they were still moist. I knew the idea of having no vent for a dryer was too good to be true. We hung the towels and shirts on a drying rack and they took a couple hours to become fully dry. Really bummed this didn't work out, especially being a big purchase (not cheap at all) that my wife and I had saved for as our combined birthday(s) and anniversary present! Seems well built and doesn't look cheap, but there are too many cons that outweigh the pros. Sure it washes fine and clothes smell and look clean, but the spin cycle force and noise is unbearable and the dryer doesn't dry the clothes. Within 24 hours of delivery, it is already packed up and ready to be sent back. Now I need to go get my wife a belated birthday gift...

Posted .Hello CaliforniaEvan, thank you for your review. We are sincerely sorry your washer/dryer combo unit did not live up to you and your wife's expectations. We truly understand how that would be frustrating. Please know that this is not the ownership experience we strive for. We hope we will have the opportunity to earn your trust back in the future. -Chris@GEA

Washes really well, but lacks in drying capability
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This little guy works really well. Quieter than other machines, though the sound of draining can be a little noisy if you hear it in the middle of the night. It doesn't take up a lot of space and I love having the convenience of not having to move the washed clothes into the dryer since it will do it all at once. Easy to change the settings as well if I want to only wash or only dry. The only real downsides for me is that it's a vent-less dryer and takes about twice the time to dry, and also that it leaves a bit of a funny smell on the clothes when dried in the machine. I'm not sure if it's because it's vent-less or because I'm not using a dryer sheet. Also, it won't dry all the way if it's too full, so make sure you don't fill it past 2/3 of the way. I've had it for about a month or so now and I'm pretty happy with my purchase despite these drawbacks.

Great for apartment dwellers/1-2 people
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Adjust your expectations - if you’re used to a vented dryer that dessicates every load and you come unglued by a bit of residual moisture, then, no, you’re not going to be pleased. If you do back to back loads for several people on the weekend, this also isn’t going to be the most efficient system. However, if you want a machine that doesn’t take up a huge amount of space and you’re the type who frequently forgets to move the wash to the dryer (ewwww, mildew!), this machine is a gem. It can be set to continue tumbling for several hours to prevent wrinkling, so you can delay start it before bed and have your clothes ready the next morning. Yes, there's some *very* slight moisture remaining at the end of the dry cycle, but it dissipates in the time it takes for you to fold/hang everything. It’s really NBD.

I never have to go to the laundrymat again. :)
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before you use that s washer dryer ckmbo, dont forget to remove the 4 transport screws and rubber grommets page 20 of the insyructions. Pro's - I never have to go to the laundry mat again. I can put in a load of laundry before bed, and it washes and drys the clothes before I wake up. Its a lot quiter than most other washers and dryers Ive owned. It has a really small footprint, but gets a lot done. Cons it doesnt dry the clothes like a regular dryer, so i dont get the really dry feeling when i oull them out - but it dries them sufficiently, so they're dry and wearable. Laundry takes 3 hours minimum. I usually set mine to extra dry, so the clothes dont feel damp when i wear them.

Perfect for RV
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this combo washer/dryer for a few months now. I absolutely love it. I am in an RV fulltime and this allows me the convenience of washing at home instead of a laundromat. It does shake a bit when it is on the spin cycle but I believe that is because of where it sits. It is ventless so the clothes may feel damp when the cycle is done but their not. (as long as you haven't over packed it) It does take 3 hours and 7 minutes to do a normal cycle but it's nice to not have to switch my clothes over to a dryer.

Love this
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great invention and I wish I'd bought it sooner! You do need to be mindful of the amount of clothing you are adding to each load. I've seen a lot of reviews saying they don't dry or come out wrinkled, but they come out perfect if you give them a little room. Instead of doing one large load, I break it down and do 2 smaller loads. Also, the "max" spin cycle shakes the house but I don't see any reason to use it. I tried it once but the spin cycle on high is all you need. This is a space and energy saver. Mine is in the kitchen and I don't mind seeing it there. Honestly, unless something goes terribly wrong, I'll never buy separate units again.

Overall not bad
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this washer because it’s nice to not have to worry about taking clothes in and out when switching from washer to dryer. It takes a long time tho to finish a cycle. I normally will use the quick wash setting and on extra light or light which lasts like 2hrs. My clothes are normally light wear anyway so this setting does the trick. If you put too many clothes they won’t dry completely and may come out wrinkly. I opted for this option because I live on the second floor of an apartment complex and the closet where the hookups are located is extremely narrrow and I found a lot of people couldn’t install their stackables. This one was the perfect size and requires only one machine to manage up the stairs. It also requires way less electricity versus a regular washer and dryer. The only downside is it is a 2 prong 120V plug and I currently have to use an extension cord. I have to look for and purchase an adapter for the 220V outlet. Also, it would’ve been nice for the door to open more quickly during the drying cycle, but understandable because of the heat component during drying, I’m assuming it’s a safety feature? It does allow to open the door during wash in case you want to add more clothes.

Ideal for 1 person in a condo.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced a 13 year old LG with identical specs. Quieter, dryer works better, much faster end to end, more consistent results, controls work the same, but include a touch panel with more options than a day trader. For me alone, it has sufficient capacity for me to use ever other day. Installation went without a hitch, and on a holiday!

Overall it's solid
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's solid overall. The dry function requires you to put less in the load than you'd think for everything to dry normally. The downside is that if you don't take the clothes out soon after the machine is done, the clothes get wrinkled quickly.

Lint
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hey all, this machine is a great purchase for small loads. Just as a heads up you need to make sure you run a clean cycle on this machine because it doesn’t flush the lint/hair build up as well as it could. I had to have a tech come out to clean it as I have a pet and her hair proceeded to clog up the internal components which I can’t access.

Perfect Laundry Unit for Seniors
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a senior in assisted living, this GE Front Load Washer/Dryer Combo is absolutely the BEST choice over stacked units which I had removed from my apartment. My only disappointment is the back-ordered 4" pedestal which would help raise it just enough to be perfect!

Wash And Dry
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this product! It is so much easier, you get your clothes washed and dried all at once and don't have to worry about it stinking if you forget about it. It was also a very easy installation my dad did it all on his own! It was a bit smaller than I thought BUT it works great and does have enough space for a large load. Do not let the size fool you!
