    Trim Kit recommended not compatible.

    The trim kit that was suggested when I purchased this item does not even come close to fitting the microwave. The microwave is larger than the cutout. I've been reading the reviews and this seems to be an issue with several people. Completely frustrated as to what to do with this expensive purchase.

The correct trim kit for this model microwave is the 27" JX7227DLBB or the 30" JX7230DLBB. Either of these kits will work and the size depends on the width you require for aesthetics.     Bought this product from BestBuy three times and they all have kind of defect/damage. There's a damage to the front corner from the second buy, we returned it and order a new one again at BestBuy website, after few days, we pick it up and only find out it's probably the product we returned few days ago because it has exactly the same damage(front corner) unless it's coincindence. Very disappointed. One thing I noticed is that the curb side delivery is done poorly. For my second buy, a young lady alone deliver it to my car and it apparently very difficult for her to load it into my car so I offer help. That might contribute to the damagy to the product due to possible drop.

    Delivered by Best Buy Delivery broken/crushed 2 times in a row. Super unhelpful delivery guys each time. Watch out if you purchase from Best Buy and get delivery.

    I purchased GE# PEB7227ANDD on April 7th, 2020 to replace a similar, yet older GE stainless steel model that failed after ~8 years. Since GE no longer makes a stainless steel looking microwave, I selected this finish, which kind of looks good with the matching trim kit and has a similar aesthetic to the housing on the front of a GE oven (if you have one in your kitchen). Here are the issues I encountered. The new and updated versions of the "built-in" microwaves will not work with older trim kits. You will definitely have to remove all of the mounting hardware from your cabinet and purchase the new trim kit to properly install this microwave. Not a big deal, but it is inconvenient (as opposed to reusing the old style kit) and takes some time and patience. Once installed, the microwave worked very well. The biggest drawback is, this unit is a finger print magnet. If you touch any part of the surface, you will now have a very distinct fingerprint. After a day or use, you will see every spot someone has touched, which, during a pandemic, is kind of a plus since you now have a reminder to clean your surfaces. And finally, the microwave stopped working after 4 months. I had to remove the trim, uninstall the microwave and pull it down from the built-in space. I could not access the fuse since, for some reason, this microwave requires a star Allen wrench to get the housing off, and I have every type of wrench other than a star. In all fairness, this microwave, when it could actually be powered on, did heat food, however I cannot give it more than 1 star due to all of the aforementioned shortcomings.

    Overpriced & SLOW shipping! I will never...and I mean NEVER order anything from Best Buy again. I came back here months later to warn you all...do not order anything from here! My one week delivery turned into 5 weeks! We went without a microwave and a hole in my kitchen wall for 5 weeks because of there incompetence; one week inconvenient but not a problem...but 5 weeks! So after installation I noticed this model is much different then the previous model...there are good and bad points about this new model...its definitely more powerful, but the buttons are hard to find what you are looking for and makes an easy job a little challenging everyday. Lets add insult to injury...so I had a $20 credit and tried to order a few cheap items for my granddaughter...guess what...they shipped only 1 of the 3 and items and wrote off the rest! Dont waste your time and money here!

    We bought this built in microwave as part of our kitchen upgrade. The purchase was made in July 2019. A few days ago, when I tried to heat up our dinner, the door broke. The button to open the microwave door is completely non responsive. We paid almost $400 for this microwave and the door broke just after six months of use!! GE appliances is one of the biggest appliances manufacturer in the US. It is known for its quality and reliability. However, the microwave we purchased is an inferior product and the quality of this microwave is below standard. As of today. our dinner is still in the microwave and we cannot open the door to get the food out. We are very disappointed with the purchase.

    Had this microwave for less than 1 month when the door latch was difficult to open the door. Repair person came and fixed it. That lasted one month. Was cooking some food and when the timer went off the door latch completely broke and we couldn't open the door to get the food out. Additionally, the control panel went dark. Repair person came out (thankfully got our food out) but now we've been waiting for over 1 month to get parts. GE refuses to replace the unit and says it can be fixed, but the parts to fix it are on back order with no delivery date it sight. Best Buy won't allow a return because it's outside the return window. Bad product.

    I purchased this new microwave on August 2021, and after installed, found immediately the door is not able to smooth open, and contacted with GE immediately on 8/12/2021, and GE sent their own authorized repair company on 8/16/2021, with 2 months wait on the parts of the control panel, yesterday 10/14/2021, the technician finally came back and replaced the control panel, and after that, the door is totally not able to open at all. I spent tremendous time of communicate the Premier appliance company ( GE assigned), normally I call 8-10 times a day, 5 days a week, they will return back to me with one message. Spent 1-2 hours on phone with GE customer service every time. Until now, this brand new GE microwave is still not useable and I can't either get it repaired or replaced .SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SHAME ON GE

    price is affordable compared with other models, however quality is very low. replaced my old GE microwave with this one and got quite disappointed. if you put two bowls of soup one of them will be warm and the other will be cold. making popcorn is also very delicate. on top of that it broke down 14 months after purchase. out of warranty of course.

    This microwave was purchased to replace a GE Profile microwave which provided years of great service. I researched microwaves and it took almost 2 months to get this delivery from Best Buy. IT WAS A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!! The quality of the new product was below expectations for a GE Profile appliance. The push-button to open the door is rickety and gets stuck easily. I have purchased GE appliances exclusively for the past 25 years but this microwave plus trim kit are the most raggedy products GE that I have encountered. What happened to this company? Deep, deep regrets!

    The microwave has worked great for nearly 2 years, even though I bought it in Aug and it wasn't delivered until Oct. Today the door actuator, which lifts the latch assembly, completely broke... It's out of warranty now and since the actuator broke during heating some food, the light is currently stuck on with a potato rotating on the turntable. I now have to devise a way to lift the latches on the inside of the door to get the door open... Since this also has a trim plate I cannot do anything else, not even unplug it, until I get the door open. I have to remove the trim plate to get access to the unit and the only way to remove the trim plate is with the door open as the screws are only accessible with the door open. We were limited on a replacement due to space, and GE Profile to match other appliances, but this was the only GE Profile available to fit the requirements. I saw some reviews about the door button sticking, but this is ridiculous. Extremely poor design from the trim plate to the inferior plastic door actuator.

Federal law requires that any adjustment or repair of a microwave door also be followed up by a leak test to make sure of proper fit, operation, and alignment.     While this review is not entirely about the unit, I still wanted to post about my buying experience as it might help someone buying an open item. I have never bought an open item, but we needed to replace a built in microwave ASAP and the delivery for a new one was over a month. We did not want to be without a microwave so we drove 40 min. to buy this open item. Since it was packed well and again, my first open item purchase, I thought I would just return if something was wrong. Well the item was not in excellent condition (I don't know who inspects the returned items and deem their condition, but there was a scratch on the upper left side of the door. Since it's made of glass, it can't be fixed. In addition, just like another reviewer (from 4 months ago titled "Poor product condition"), there is a crack/damage pretty much in the same section as the scratch on the glass. Since it's built in, you really can't see it once installed, but nonetheless, a crack, which seem to be common. I can't really correct/resolve the issue without spending over an hour. I can't even call the store since there is no way to get a hold of them via phone. I would need to drive 30- 40 minutes one way to return and then figure out viable a replacement. Decided not to deal with a return and then buy another. Lesson, if buying an open item, check out the actual item before leaving the store or be ready to go back to the store. Luckily, I like the microwave and the functions are similar to our previous GE Monogram. It's also much quieter. Also hoping the damage is just cosmetic long term, which appears to be.

    Purchased 1 1/2 years ago. Immediately had a door issue, which after speaking to the repair tech and reading several reviews is common. Then, last week it went completely dead....called GE. Called Best Buy. apparently no one does drop off microwave repair locally. cost to come out is $99. Cost to drop off at Best Buy, who then sends it out is $85. Spoke to GE customer service. He thinks it is likely the Magnetron Tube, which he says will cost about as much as a new microwave..... So, my delimna, Do I but the same unit because I paid $200 for the trim kit and modified the cabinet for it? Or do I find a differnt one and spend an extra @200 for their trim kit? Bottom line.....it looks cheap. It feels cheap and apparently it perfroms cheap.......STAY AWAY!!!! Read the on line reviews....door problems and the Magnetron tube are a common issue.....UGH!!!!!

    From day one, the door would take several tries pushing the cheap plastic button until it opened. One day, it kept running after taking food out. When I tried to reopen the door, a plastic part inside snapped. Had to unplug it to stop it. Luckily, Best Buy was awesome about returning it. 5 stars for their customer service.

    Ceramic coating started to peel off with bubbles

    We bought this as replacement of GE microwave which came as combo with oven. That microwave survived 6 years. Within 10 months, this microwave ceramic coating formed bubbles and started to peel off from the roof. Reported the problem to GE and the advised to stop using it and will send technician to check and decide what can be done. Now a long loop of back and forth with consumer department will start. I do not recommend this microwave. Even if GE may decide to take an action, I will not get 100% of money back or replacement so wastage of time and money.

    We purchased this microwave to replace a previous GE built in microwave that was 5 years old. In this time, the magnetron failed three times. On the third failure, we decided to replace the mircrowave with this one. From the beginning, we were leary about the door button failing. The microwave has been installed and in light use for approx 40 days and now on Christmas morning (with a meal to prepare), the door button broke completely. The microwave is completely unusable. I am DISGUSTED that I spend $400 on a brand new microwave, $200 for the trim kit, and now when most needed, I have a completely unuseable microwave again. Sick that I bought a GE. Matching my other appliances is not worth it. I cannot recommend any GE appliance at this point.

    From the start, the door always was hard to open. Had to push 4-5 times to open door. Then, after 5 weeks, while food was finished cooking, the door would not open and the tray kept spinning. Had to pull the plug. The door still won't open and the food is in the microwave along with a plate. returning it to Best Buy and they will break door to get my plate and spoiled food. DO NOT BUY THIS MICROWAVE!
