This is the replacement oven for my 13 year old GE Profile built-in microwave with two matching ovens. It works as advertised and I am happy with it. However, GE has changed the style and the appearance of the microwave and it has minor differences from the two built in ovens. This one is square at corners and it does not have the curvatures at the top of trim like the ovens. The built-in ovens have white digital clock numbers. This one has green digital clock numbers. This was the best match to my two GE Profile ovens. The new trim kit is plastic and covered with a thin product that looks like stainless steel. The trim kit was also an additional $240. The old trim kit would not work with this microwave oven. The screw holes do not align. This was the best match to my two GE Profile ovens. I installed the microwave oven. The instructions were ok, just follow them carefully to get all screws to align with holes. Recommend having two people for the final install-one to hold the microwave and one to plug the cord into the back of the cabinet.

Bought this model to replace a GE 2.2 cu.ft microwave. The original GE lasted 8 years and installed as a set with a wall oven. An add-on trim frame made the microwave match the oven. The original frame would not work with the new microwave which was an extra expense. The chrome door of the original was not available as a choice with the new model so we elected for dark gray door. The microwave and the trim frame have a cheaper, flimsy feel compared to the originals. The new microwave omits the GE name badge on the door. We miss that name badge to slam the door shut to avoid fingerprints. GE did a good job simplifying the control panel which makes the oven with more usable cooking features, e.g. the Popcorn button works well. The interior of this oven is dark gray and starves the interior light -- you really can't watch the food cook by peering through the window. But, overall we are glad GE still makes an oven and a frame so that this oven appears as a set to fit our cabinet space.

Replaced same model that died 6 yrs after being installed. Reused trim kit which is near impossible to put back together. Replaced same model that stopped working prematurely so I would not have to purchase a new trim kit. Very unhappy with this but was stuck with trying to match size etc.

Our last GE profile built in microwave lasted 20 years & I absolutely loved it. Of course I ordered the same microwave recently, only in black. I must say I am disappointed in that there is no light on the control panel. It is very difficult to see even in the daytime & also has small print. Sometimes the door does not open properly. The latches are made of plastic!!!! This is very annoying! We ordered the black trim & it is plastic & DOES NOT fit, even though it is the matched model for this microwave! Fortunately I saved the old trim which has to be repainted but fits perfectly on my new microwave. So right now I have a new black microwave that the door sometimes opens quickly & an old bisque colored trim which is made of very substantial metal. I feel very bad for the flaws in the production of the new model. GE can do better than this!!!!

Good microwave--dislike that every time you have to buy a new built in GE microwave when the old one breaks down, you also have to buy a new trim kit. Dislike the dark interior of this microwave, though I do like the noise silencing options. The button to open the microwave stuck from day one, making it hard to pop the microwave open, but it took so long to get the microwave when we ordered it that I didn't want to bother to return it for a new one that might have the same issue. Hopefully the button will keep working to open the microwave though it is a pain that it doesn't work easily. Also, it is always difficult to figure out which trim kit we need when we buy these.

I had an earlier version of this oven which was provided to us by our builder. The same had issues with the plate within 2 years and the only option we had was to buy this one due to the size of the cabinet built in cabinet. No other options available.

I had an installed GE Profile microwave that had to be replaced. I did my online comparisons and looked at reviews. Due to the size opening and change in designs to drawer or drop downs, I didn't feel I had much of a choice. I had to go with the newer GE Profile even though there were many reviews on which the door opener button broke at a year or less. I wrote to GE customer service to ask if the reliability had been improved. Instead, they told me how to properly press the button- firmly and in the middle. I have to say I got it at a great price as an open box item but I can definitely understand there customer concerns. Also, the duration of microwave does not seem accurate at less than 20 seconds.

Microwave works. No issues. The color is off white, not white as pictured. I sent the first one back because of the color and the second one is still not a bright white. The trim kit however is white so don't know why the microwave doesn't match the trim kit?

This is an attractive built in microwave and delivers the expected power of an 1100 W unit. However, when I placed my order, I did not realize that it would not have a lighted panel on the front. My old microwave did, and you could see the individual selections, but this only has a light when you open the door. Have to turn on the overhead kitchen light to select the function that I want. Disappointed about that. My fault for not checking this function before buying. Other than that, nice microwave.

This oven was a replacement of the exact same oven I bought about 4 years ago. The old one started sparking! I would've bought a different one but this was the only one I could find that would fit my cabinet without a major re-work (and a new trim kit). Hope it lasts longer!

We bought this mainly because it fit the cabinet space we wanted to build it into. It works fine and looks good, but for the price the button and door feels cheap. Also it’s really annoying that cooking at a specific time is a two step process. Have to select the “cook time” button first. If you start to renter the time it will automatically start . My teenager hates this. I feel like the price is only justified by being a built in unit. It’s just okay.

2 years in and this microwave oven is a bit loud and the push lever to open the door is not working properly. I am a single person so am not as hard on this appliance as a family of four would be. That said I can’t imagine this unit lasting very long for a regular family. It still cooks food properly but am worried the door is going to fully lock up soon and I’ll have to replace this item.

The microwave itself is fine, but it seems a bit more clunky than its predecessor. Why does it seem that GE products get worse with each new generation? Also, this microwave does not fit into the previous trim kits (don't believe what GE says or what they recommend). We were forced to shell out an addition load of cash to have the right look (and I will review the poor quality trim kit in another post). I am so disappointed. I wish GE would care about its repeat customers.

we're just not real happy with this microwave. We got GE because it was for over a GE oven and we wanted it to match. It just doesn't have the features our old one had at our previous home. This one the door seems hard to open at times.

I bought this GE microwave oven because my 6 year old GE microwave stopped working and this one fits perfectly in the cabinet space. Pros: heats food faster than older model A lot quiter than older model Cons: not enough inside light but i am getting used to it A lot of the time I have to wear my prescription glasses to see words written on the buttons even though my kitchen well lit. I did not have this issue with previous model

The unit quit operating after about a week. It was repaired within the next week. Our confidence is weakened in the unit, so we will see how well lasts.

Its Okay. Had to replace our other GE microwave that was not even 2 years old. So will see how long this one will last. Its the same as the one that we replaced.

The unit meets expectations. The only reason I'm giving it a 3 star rating is due to the fact I have had to repurchase the same model to replace one that failed, originally provided by the builder. It was likely the magnetron, after only 3 years of use. It worked well up to that point. I did not want to have to purchase a different model which would have required a a different trim kit for an additional $200+ instead of a repurchase of the same unit for $400+

No bells and whistles, just does it job. A little bit pricey compare to LG microwave but have no choice to fit the template already in place in the cabinet

First 1 delivered did not work. Most of the control buttons did not function. Second 1 delivered 1 week later. So far so good with this one.
