This was one of the best games for the PS4 and it got even better when they optimize it for PS5. The game play is fluid and dynamic. The graphics are beautiful and really bring to life the feeling of living in feudal Japan during this time period. It is a must have game to add to your collection.

This game is so addicting and so beautiful to play. Every scenery in the game is just beautiful. The game plays like its a samurai version of Assassin's Creed. So if you like Assassin's Creed types of games, you'll love this game. There's so much to do in the game. It'll be hard to 100% this game. It is an open world game to an extent. I've played about 50-70 hours of this game already and still haven't beaten the game. But then again, I'm trying to finish side quests too.

Beautiful game. Love the combat, leveling up and story. Must play, especially on a PS5. It runs at a locked 60. My game of the year.

This is a great title for the PS4. For PS5 owners, if you want to upgrade, there's a $30 upcharge so keep that in mind.

The long awaited open world, of the ancient Samurai, is as much as I’d hoped. You get scenic overlooks at sunset and waterfalls. Fight a plague of invading warriors with your katana and bow. Whether you walk through the island or ride your horse, you’ll enjoy this rated M PlayStation game. (No invert Y Axis?)

What a way to end the PS4 lifecycle. Seriously. Wow. What a stunner. Sucker Punch delivers an immersive world (play with the Japanese language setting on even though the lip syncing doesn't match) where you get to feel like a samurai, or at least what I imagine it would be like. Combat is incredible, and the game has leeway on how you want to play (passively stealthy like a ninja or more "honest" and less back-stabby, like a true samurai). Probably the best looking game on the system from a true artistic standpoint. It's not hyper realistic, but it's not going for that. Story has been really awesome as well. Plus you get to pet foxes. C'mon. Plus, the main story characters are all awesome. It's not perfect, though. AI leaves a bit to be desired (it's not always the most aware and you have dudes staring at walls a lot) but if you're not playing stealthy, it doesn't matter a whole lot anyway. Some weird mission tracking bugs, but nothing that doesn't sorta fix itself by backtracking a little. A lot of samey NPC mission stuff, but those aren't required to beat the game or anything. If you own a PS4, you owe it to yourself to at least try it. It's not for everyone, for sure, but I would highly doubt you wouldn't find something you love about it.

    Among the best PS4 exclusives

Purchased this copy as a gift, but have already owned this and played it myself. This game is incredibly beautiful, especially when played on a PS4 Pro and 4K TV with great HDR. I played on an OLED and the colors really popped. As far as gameplay, this is a big open world action game. It takes some cues from Breath of the Wild, and also bears some similarities to Assassin’s Creed—though I would say that the execution is much better here. Combat is not a simple hack and slash affair—it is much more comparable to something like Dark Souls or Bloodborne. You are required to time attacks properly, dodge and block at the right time, and switch stances to effectively deal with different enemy types. The combat is more forgiving than in the Dark Souls/Bloodborne games however, but it’s not easy. It does progressively get easier as you unlock more skills—there are some wicked powerful abilities you get beyond the halfway point in the game. You have the option of playing stealthily (like a ghost) or rushing in head first (like a samurai). You will want to take advantage of both play styles, and you’ll often switch between them when clearing an enemy settlement. But you can also generally stick to whichever you prefer. The world design and sound design are stellar. The soundtrack and everything sounded amazing through my surround setup. There are many moments where the game goes from being quiet and peaceful to being booming and bombastic, in an incredibly cinematic way. They really nailed everything about the world in this game. There’s also lots to do and discover—the collectibles get old after a while, but I enjoyed pretty much every side quest. The story is good, though everything is remarkably dark. For as beautiful as the game can be at times, there’s really not much happiness to be found in most of the side stories. Even basic side quests tend to have very dark endings. They’ve also added multiplayer this past fall, and it’s incredibly great, especially for being a free update. It’s very fun jumping in with a couple friends and hacking away at enemies. You can blow through the campaign in multiplayer pretty quickly, but there’s a lot of content for anyone who wants to unlock everything. This is really a must have for most PS4 players, especially people who like action adventure games. One of the PS4’s best exclusives

There were mixed reviews for this game but this game is amazing. The combat feels so good and never gets old. The story is really solid. The open world is amazing the graphics are beautiful. No game is perfect and all games have issues if you look hard enough for them but if the 2018 trailer made you want this game then get it. You won’t be disappointed! The open world feels like red dead redemption 2 but better and traveling the open road feels more purposeful.

This game, from the plentiful side quests to the extreme artistic talent from these developers is stunning. First off, the game is one of the best looking ps4 titles I’ve seen. The lighting is just *Muah* Secondly, the story is pretty awesome. A little bit of virtue signaling tho, “this woman is badest of the bad” “this woman is the best archer of all archers in Tsushima”. But those are pretty seldom and don’t really ruin the experience like Boarderlands 3, or The Last Of Us Part 2. The story is pretty complex, coming from an old way that just needs to modernize to survive, the infighting between the samurai of how the way must be. Thirdly to go into the side quests, they are very plentiful. From helping peasants to helping your other samurai the amount of characters you meet is enormous. There are also side quests that help upgrade your character and find things such as armor, and charms. Which are used to better fit your personal fighting style. Fourth of all, the combat and gameplay is phenomenal. The combat is practical, yet complex with many skill trees using Technique points to level up. And stances which are unlocked by either viewing enemy leaders or killing them. These skill trees can effect stances which each one helps fight against different enemy types and have modifiers on throwable effecting what they can do or the power of explosives. Fifthly I must mention some faults of this game. It’s the glitches. They are pretty plentiful and at one point caused me to have to leave the game and come back to it. However I didn’t confront too many Emerson breaking glitches. So to summarize there are many upgradable items from swords to armor. The gameplay is top notch, the graphics are just insane. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who wants a great paced game with a great story. Chris,

This game is a 10/10 for me. Probably my game of the year for the PlayStation 4. The graphics are absolutely gorgeous and the story pulls you in and makes you want to keep playing. The combat system is rewarding and fluid and The open world makes you want to explore every inch of the maps.

By far the best game that come out of 2020. Stunning graphics, open world exploring, engaging game play, great cast of characters and awesome story with RPG like character progression. The only complain is that this game will end about 60 hours and I wish it will go on and never end.

Put away the 1ms Monitor and hook up the big screen. NO SJW OR POLITICAL NARRATIVES. I've learn about the Mongolian invasion of Japan through an Anime. This game is beautiful. It's open world. The open world is similar to Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Far Cry Franchise and Horizon Zero Dawn. It's been a while where I get a game and farm for supplies to get get sweet upgrades. And it is FUN, and not chore. *chokes Assassins Creed: Origins. The combat is great you have options; even though it could be repeatative at times. Completely dependent on your actions. You can approach an encounter with your Katana in Stand Off, snipe with you Bows or go in for the stealth kills. I have kids and I make time to play in the middle of the night, so that I can enjoy the many different distinct vistas. Plan on putting in work on the game, that ultimately pays off well quickly and consistently.
