the Gigabyte M27Q is a very good option for gaming. It has a good refresh rate, good color image quality. Free sync works perfect. the price is excellent for everything the monitor offers, it competes monitors like Dell s2721dhf or LG gn850-B, I can say that the M27Q can be a little better in terms of performance, For gaming I disabled HDR . the configuration I use for the best image quality is in standard: -brightness 50 nits. -Contrast 80. -Gamma 3. -Color Tem User Red 95-Green 98-Blue 100. All other configurations must be in default. I got this information on the web. the ods is ok the materials are plastic the base is metal. What I did not like is that in some areas the text has blur but it can be fixed using the windows option "Clear Type Text Tuner". I recommend this monitor, it is one of the best options that best buy has and in its category it is one of the best.

So far so good, no dead pixel or any visible panel damage so far, I would say the grey/black uniformity isn’t the greatest there is definitely a bright grey towards the edges but it will vary monitor to monitor. The colors are fantastic and the high refresh rate is a nice change from 60hz. I have attached a photo in regards to the black uniformity sadly it’s just a downside of the monitor tech being IPS but better quality control can help out a lot but at this price point what do you expect. Anyways I’d recommend the monitor and its appears best buy has the RGB subpixel arrangement instead of BGR which is great for text clarity.

    Backlight Bleed - Poor QA?

Bought it on sale for $269 after watching the review on Hardware Unboxed. Was initially impressed with the contrast, colors, and functionality available with the KVM switch. Unfortunately, I soon noticed discoloration in the bottom left from the yellow backlight bleed. It's one thing if it's standard IPS glow, but this was BAD. More than just blacks were getting washed out, it was noticeable during gameplay in Halo and Forza. I even got my wife's opinion on it, and she's not a super picky person when it comes to displays. It was too much for her as well. We made the decision to return the same day and Customer Service at best buy gave me 0 trouble swapping to the more expensive Dell in the same class - thanks to Don in Kennesaw! The Dell has 0 issues and even looks a little better aesthetically (personal opinion). If you get lucky and buy one that doesnt have backlight bleed, its likely a better deal than anything else in its price class - but its taking a gamble with Gigabyte's QA process.

Great monitor for the money. No complains so far, image quality is excellent also one thing is not mention in the description is that the monitor can do 4K at 60Hz. And it can do 170Hz display port only.

Wow I love this monitor , came from a 1080p benq , such a huge difference , using this with my Xbox series x , I had to update the monitor with a special cable included on the box , pretty simple just YouTube it , my monitor came in perfect condition no dead pixels or over bleeding , I highly recommended , paid $300 , no speakers but I got some red dragon speakers for 20 bucks, looks way better in person , picture don’t really show how nice it is

I came from an ASUS 1080 to this Gigabyte 1440 and i am very pleased with it so far. If you have a high performing pc i definitely recommend this monitor. This is an awesome monitor for under 300. To me 4K just isn’t worth it right now

The good: Colors look fine, no dead pixels, no evident ghosting/anti-ghosting on the default overdrive mode. I can't measure the actual effective response time of course but it feels tight. When I am able to use displayport (see below), GSync works with zero issues. The bad: Really big one: The monitor doesn't accept a displayport signal 3/4 of the time. It'll say "No signal detected" and Windows won't see it. I've used multiple cables, updated drivers, powered off for a while, etc. I have occasionally been able to make it work. How I don't know; I am unable to consistently reproduce anything. If you manage to get it to work it will stay working until it is unplugged. Now remember you can only get GSync or 170Hz over displayport, so this issue is huge. As I'm writing this I'm going over HDMI even though I bought this for the GSync and refresh rate. Also pretty big: As a lot of others have said, their QC doesn't care about backlight bleed at all. Mine is pretty atrocious. It's not too evident in gameplay unless you're in a dark scene. It does sometimes give the feeling that there is a constant glare on your screen. I've attached a couple pictures, taken in a dark room. The black screen is straight as the camera sees it, the TV show I have tuned back to be close to what your eyes see, and the game is as the camera sees it (but note the camera chooses a very different exposure when looking at a brighter scene). For reference, the small, faint bleed in the upper left corner is what is "expected" for a panel like this. Using the built in controls and menu does NOT keep the monitor from powering off. So you have about 3 seconds if you're trying to, say, debug a no-signal problem before the monitor unceremoniously turns off and makes you mash the buttons to slowly turn it on again. The bezel to the "screen" is like 2mm on the sides and top, which is sleek, but it's misleading. The actual panel under the screen does NOT extend to the bezel, so there's like a half inch of black around the monitor.

Everything about this monitor seems like it'd be the perfect IPS panel for the price. Looks great, stand is nice, super amazing display. 170hz refresh rate is noticeable in games and holds its own against the other LG IPS 2k monitors. BUT, and a big but too.......the panel I waited 5 days for, that I just picked up at a store 10 miles away, came with 3 dead pixels and horrible black light bleed on the left side. It's not the expected IPS glow that most panels have either, literally looks like dark brown haze to the eye. This monitor is now "sold out" and I have no option but to return it. I really liked this monitor, but I only ended up wasting a bunch of time and sadly disappointed. Check the pics, I hovered my cursor over the dead pixels. I originally thought it had 1 bad pixel, but as I started writing this review, I discovered the other 2 near it. Would not be surprised if I find more. Please check other websites that carry this M27Q, I'm not the only one with this issue. Seems quality control is severely lacking. Now I have to go stand in line to return this in the middle of a pandemic, with no option to exchange it for another. What a waste..

We purchased this monitor back in late January, and are already having to send it back for RMA. Turned it on one night and there are lines at the bottom of the display. Attempted to update the firmware but it didn't change anything really at all. We originally didn't get the geek squad protection plan, but was able to purchase it late last minute. Instead of using it immediately though, we decided to do an RMA with Gigabyte and we just shipped the monitor to them but it was a whopping $75 to get it shipped from where we are at. Next time I think I will just use the geek squad replacement since the shipping costs more than the protection plan....

Overall great features ruined by a bad backlighting. This monitor has great picture quality, input options and response time. However the experience is ruined by severe backlight bleeding in the lower left and right sides. In the picture I'm comparing my much cheaper AOC IPS (right) to the G27Q (left) to show the backlight uniformity difference.

Really amazing monitor, 1440p natively looks better than 1440p on a 4k screen by downscaling, i can confirm because i have the m28q as well, only thing about this monitor is that it doesnt have speakers, i use headphones but its always nice to have speakers for whatever video , other than that, its perfect

An amazing monitor for a great price! The 1440p 170hz looks amazing, I haven’t noticed any backlight bleed, the kvm works great switching between my gaming pc and school laptop and the picture quality overdrive mode works the best for every refresh rate. Well worth it!

I read a lot of the reviews on here that are negative and wanted to give my overall impressions. I realize there may be quality issues with the monitor, but I got a good unit and it works great in my home setup, allowing me to switch seamlessly between my laptop and desktop systems with the KVM switch. The display looks great with relatively minor bleed when showing a full black screen. Overall, the product is what was promised and I hope the people that have quality issues are able to get their units replaced, because the monitor is working great for me!
