Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the 17.3" laptop's large screen size, ease of use, and performance. Many appreciate its reasonable price and the ample RAM and storage it offers. However, some customers note that the battery life could be improved, and a few have experienced issues with the hard drive. Overall, the positive feedback on key features outweighs the negative comments.

I bought this laptop 1 month ago because of its RAM and storage memory. I accidentally dropped my phone from about 10 cms on keyboard and the battery got saperated. I really got upset by this. Later on I joined it with glue. The screen is big and the battery life is satisfying. The disadvantages are 1. 17.3" is way to big to carry 2. No backlit for keyboard 3. Body is vey delicate, 4. The last and worst thing is the Touch pad. Trust me it really sucks, it takes lots of time to respond

I have purchased HP laptops for almost 12 years now, and will never own a different brand. Sometimes this new software they are trying to make us upload is confusing, but it's OK. I try. BUT the HP laptops? Awesome. This new one is just as great. Thank you for your help always when I am in the store trying to choose a new one. You and HP both are awesome:)

A good laptop with nice sound clarity. Wide screen helps for a better video view. Multitasking works. Decent battery backup. Have problems with Bluetooth device connectivity inspite of updating all Bluetooth drivers.

I purchased my laptop on March 18th, 2017 and was hesitant to purchase the geek squad protection plan. I purchased the plan and lucky i did. On May 6th 2017 the cooling fan stopped working and the computer kept cutting off. I took my brand new computer back to Best Buy only to find out I have to wait 3 weeks for it to be repaired. Not happy at all.

Great price and a decent amount of features on an inexpensive computer. The Good: i5 processor 7th gen was my selling point. Love the huge screen! Fits a little tight on my 15" laptop bag but doesn't bother me at all. 8GB RAM is the bare minimum I would use with windows 10 and this laptop meets that. It can run a little choppy at time but only notice when its downloading window updates. It performers well even under stress. Loads up fast on start up. For the price there isn't much out there. The Bad: Wireless connection runs only on 2.4GHz no 5GHz capability Too many pre-install junk. delete half the junk and the computer will thank you The computer feels and looks cheap. don't bother buying the higher model because it uses the same cheap case No backlit keyboard very short charging cable Batter life could be better Overall its a Good computer if you don't mind some of the bad.

Speed and performance were a top priority and this laptop fit that bill. The screen quality is extremely good and perfect for using it with photoshop. Previously, I had to use a separate and larger screen. Its truly a what you see is what you get post photo editing. Only drawback is the battery life. In general, its a minor drawback but was the difference between 4 and 5 stars.

This laptop has the most RAM and hard drive storage for the money. It is a great value. The laptop runs smoothly, and I haven't had any performance problems. The laptop quality I am a little concerned about. It seems filmsy and breakable. However, it has not broken yet.

I got this laptop for my brother for his birthday since his was stolen while traveling. He is loving the speed and battery life. I did some quick research and he doesn't use it for super intense applications. A lot of web browsing, watching videos and basic office stuff but no graphics intense gaming or video editing. It's light for traveling and super easy to use. He had been considering getting a Mac but it wasn't in his budget and I know learning a whole new OS would not be fun for him. He's pretty happy with being a windows laptop. The price point for screen size, weight, and specs was great and like it says in my title, this gift made me look like a rockstar!

It was past time to replace my first and only laptop ( Windows XP). I did research to decide if I wanted a tablet or another laptop. The laptop made more sense. This laptop has Winows 10 (my desktop has Windows 7). It is bigger than I originally wanted, but I am glad I got this model. Great picture, plenty of memory and storage and very fast. All that in a package that is thinner than my former unit. I look forward to many years of use with my new purchase. 12 months same as cash is icing on the cake.

It runs Windows 10 which works well (was new to me); it's been working well with two different versions of MS Office (I installed 2010 and their pre-installed trial ver 2016). Good color, proportion, lightweight yet sturdy, and the Intel Core i5-7299U is fast. This fits the needs very well of a non-gamer who surfs the net all day, every day with multiple tabs open, running HD video, listening to (e.g.) Amazon Music, webmail, online shopping, ecomm site administration, and opening and closing tabs doing research using Google! Also typically running MS XL as well as some light work in graphic design programs such as Adobe PS, Illustrator, and InDesign. It's all-around great for the price! I recommend!

To be fair, don't expect to game on this device, it only has integrated graphics, but don't let that stop you! If you need a machine that can handle real-time encoding (OBS live streams, etc) or video editing without any issues, this machine is for you. I love using this thing and I take it with me wherever I go Pros: Great processing power, more than you'd probably expect. Cons: The trackpad kind of annoys me, it feels really griddy to move fingers over until you get more used to it and whatnot. Eventually, though, you end up smoothening it out enough to where your finger can easily slide around. HIGHLY recommended for this price, I don't think you're going to get anything better CPU wise. Also comes with 8GB of DDR4 2133MHZ ram.

This is really a good laptop for school, home, or business use. It is pretty fast with a very good size of storage on the hard drive (1TB). I am very happy with my purchase, especially with a larger screen along with 8 GB for memory. The picture quality is very good for eyes.

I wanted an affordable laptop for my daughter's room. I was looking for something with an I3 processor minimum.and at least 6 gigs of RAM. My daughter wanted a larger screen, and this one had a 17-inch monitor. It also had an I5 processor plus 8 gigs of ram. This computer exceeded what I wanted, and for a reasonable price.

I purchased the HP 17" laptop to replace a 17" Toshiba that I had bought in 2008. The display is crisp and clear, it has double the RAM and hard drive space. It is also much lighter. The keys are a little smaller and you have to hit two keys to use the function key as they default to numbers first. I never realized how great the Harmon-Kardon speakers in my old laptop were. The HP speakers are not bad, they're just not great. I corrected this by getting a Bluetooth USB card and iHome Bluetooth speakers.

Like the larger screen, and the set up right out of the box was so simple was excellent! Plenty of USB ports, Family members aren't shy about using it either ! Price of this PC was very reasonable compared to other PC's. I use a mouse for navigating, however you can use your fingers with no problems, pc has fast response to your choices. Buy the protection package.

This is my first HP laptop to own. My previous ones had been Toshiba's. The transition is not that bad. I'm sure I will get used to it in no time. This Laptop has great qualities (Pros) but it also has some downfalls (Cons). Pro's: It has a great memory. Great RAM too. Graphics are crisp and colors look nicely bright. It is quite big but the good thing is that it is not that heavy. It is easily customizable and it is not bulky. One charge lasts a pretty long time. Now the Con's: The speakers are at the front and towards the bottom, so the sound is not as loud and crisp as it should be. The front camera is not that great. It makes the pics appear a bit blurrier than they are. The mouse pad is not that sensitive (I actually thought it was a technical problem and had to change laptops, but the new one I got has the same problem). It is receltive, but you have to hit the pad hard for it to notice you are trying to click something. Now, I know I am coming from other brands of laptops, but I was hoping to get a better laptop since I've heard that HP's are super good. Overall it is a great computer. Not perfect, but great. I would totally recommend it since it gets the job done and I'm sure I can get used to the Cons while I really enjoy the Pros :)

I didn't want to spend a lot of money and I found this computer on sale at Best Buy. I am extremely happy with it! The graphics are great and it is very easy to use. The size is a little large to travel with but it's great for home use. The battery life is only around 3 hours so I have to charge more often than I would like. I am very happy with my purchase.
