This is the king right now of laptops, i coulsnt of been happier with the preformance. Any game i want, mods and everything, from hevaily modded MC with shaders to the max, arc survival ascended, or even star citizen all are playable on max setting with buttery smooth preformance! This thing is top .01% in preformance.
The hardware is solid and the RBG goes great with everything. The 2k, OLED screen really stands out. The machine looks as beautiful as she runs.
There is only one gripe about it and its the batter life, this bad boy needs the charger but its well worth it when its that much more portable than a desktop would be! But you need the power to run that 5080 rtx.
Hopefully you enjoy it as much as i do.

Had it for 2 weeks now. Amazing performance, although some issues with Optimus switching displays and slight lag when on battery power. Trying to find a workaround for this. But you can carry this beast gaming laptop anywhere, just bring the power box. When plugged in, it is desktop level performance. Get a laptop cooler to help the fans out. Happy purchase, no regrets.

I always hunt for a laptop which will have the highest TDP for atleast the GPU. This laptop is a direct competitor for the legion 7i pro. Anyway this has a great OLED screen, very easy to use tuning software by OMEN, form factor is already pretty great and its has a decent weight.

This machine is a beast, with a beautiful 240 hz OLED screen and trust me once you use a OLED panel its really difficult to go back. The RTX 5080 will give you 4090 laptop performance easily if not better and thats not including the titles with advance frame generation. CPU temps even under heavy load are good, and its not a macbook pro size laptop by any means BUT its a fairly “small” laptop for a gaming laptop anyway. The speakers are very good BUT not great. And then theres the keyboard, the RGB looks amazing but the look and soft touch isnt for everyone even if i personally love it. Internally theres 2 ram slots that are upgradable as well as a extra nvme slot. But the one con is the price, it’s expensive. But if you are okay with spending over 3 grand on a gaming desktop replacement you will not regret this machine.

Laptop runs great, thin enough and the OLED screen is amazing. Returned a 5070ti g14 for this and have no regrets. Able to hit 100+ fps in most games with dlss and MFG is pretty amazing as well. Trackpad could be better, but thats my only complaint. CPU temps can get to 100 but i havent had any performance issues.

Very Satisfied with My Choice & Best Buy

Best Buy purchase is working perfectly. I purchased from Best Buy after being ripped off from an Amazon seller, the same computer except with 32GB of RAM. I added an additional 2TB SSD I already had in the empty SSD slot and replaced the two 16GB DDR5’s with two 32GB DDR5’s as long as I had it open. Everything installed without a hitch and now I’ve maxed it out as I always do with my computers since I run multiple graphic intensive programs for digitizing simultaneously.
I originally purchased the HP Omen computer except with 64GB of memory from Amazon and it was a ripoff! Windows didn’t work properly even after all updates were applied to 11. Just a few examples of Windows errors: Camera incompatible so no facial recognition; Touchpad incompatible so no fingerprint recognition; Keyboard lights didn’t work; Thunderbolt connections didn’t work; SSD empty second slot missing on motherboard. I’m very knowledgeable with computers & knew it was a clone, definitely not a comparable motherboard, camera, and more. . Nothing worked as it should. *I was only able to get a partial refund from this Amazon seller. I had to pay a 20% restocking fee and shipping! There was nothing I could do, but better than being out the entire amount I paid. I will never purchase any high priced item from Amazon again!
I can’t say enough for Best Buy and the quality products they offer. I’m very happy with my purchase from Best Buy!

Amazing laptop! It runs all my programs smoothly! It gets a little loud when gaming. So using headphones is advised.
As a laptop you will need to use charger if you want the best performance. Not the greatest battery though.

Got another brand of gaming laptop first (more expensive and way more popular) it was a lot more slim and sleek design which compromised gaming. Crashing every a while on max setting or switching windows. Exchanged for this one perfect for me. The only thing is the keyboard design and touchpad are shxt but i mostly use external keyboard and mouse so not an issue for me but it might bother others

I have been loving this laptop until I found out that there are two bright patches at the bottom of the screen. It is obvious when I use dark mode. When i open browser or software with dark gray background it can be seen easily. I required a replacement and the other laptop came with the same issue. I’ve seen others posted their OMEN MAX OLED screen and they also havve this issue. You should really check your screen. I believe it is a product flaw.

Absolutely love this purchase. The cooling on this laptop is pretty good for it being a laptop and was very impressive. I still got the cooling pad that Razor offers to protect my investment but not totally necessary if you don’t plan on cranking the setting to max on every game. A couple games I played on max settings had this computer feel like it was playing solitaire. No struggle at all. The screen was something else too. For a laptop the screen looked better than the tv in my living room. The quality of graphic and power was better than most of my friends gaming desktops which was shocking again for a laptop. Multitasking on this machine is seam less. Creating videos to send to friends is super awesome.
Con’s: My only cons I didn’t like was the amount of ads HP has that you have to manually shut off. Super annoying. Also the keyboard does not feel like a premium keyboard at all. I do recommend getting an external keyboard if you’re wanting a premium feeling keyboard. Not that big of a deal since people usually get external keyboards anyway. Also I wish the laptop had a thicker male end on the power cord. The part that goes into the laptop. If it’s not flush it won’t charge. Next is the hdmi out port only does 144hz from what I’m seeing on my 240hz monitor. You only see 240hz from the laptop itself. The amount of inputs was a slight turn off but the Razor cooling pad 100% fixed it. Really good investment if you’re buying this. Last thing I have is battery life. This is a gaming laptop. Don’t expect the battery life to last as long as your cellphone. Must be realistic.

The HP Omen Max 16 with the NVIDIA RTX 5080 is an absolute beast when it comes to gaming and performance. It handles every modern AAA title I’ve thrown at it with ease—ultra settings, ray tracing, DLSS—no problem. The QHD+ 240Hz display is vibrant, smooth, and truly enhances the gaming experience. Combined with the powerful Intel Ultra 9 processor, multitasking and content creation are also a breeze.
Thermals are well-managed, the build quality feels premium, and the overall user experience is top-tier. Battery life? Make sire you carry your charger with you at all times…but fhags expected.
My only gripe—and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5—is that the Thunderbolt (USB-C) display output is routed through the integrated GPU instead of the dedicated RTX 5080. That’s a missed opportunity…
Still, if you’re looking for raw power in a sleek gaming laptop, this machine delivers.

Excellent and Loaded machine

Excellent and Loaded machine with a beautiful 240Hz OLED screen. The RTX 5080 will give you near 4090 desktop performance Relatively small footprint for a gaming laptop. It weighs about 6lbs. The keyboard's RGB looks amazing. The Internals include 2 ram slots that are upgradable as well as a extra NVME slot. It’s expensive. Normally 3K however, I got it on sale for 2.7K. Hopefully those prices will cycle. Occasionally, I'll stream my STEAM games to my slower desktop (32in monitor + i7 with a 3080Ti) to get the Ultra-settings experience. Will likely upgrade with another stick of NVME.
