Switch was easy to install with accompanying instructions. I made it work with Siri and Alexa. It schedules very easy and is accurate with on and off settings. Also you can just touch it to toggle on and off. I plan to buy more of these switches with confidence they will work as advertised.

But it never succeedes in connecting to the Wi-Fi. Even tried an extender to no avail. If you're wanting to use it for automation purposes, don't bother and select a higher quality manufacturer.
And just as I was going to screen shot it failing for the 20th time it worked. I've even gotten Alexa working with it. Still don't recommend it but it is working.

OK - So this switch (once it is properly set up) works perfectly. I have it hooked up to Alexa and it works flawlessly in one of my kids (that cant remember to turn off the light) room. Physical install is as simple as hard wiring any light switch. If you can screw wire nuts together, you can do this. The issue is when you have to set it up via the app. I have an iphone so this is only my experience from the lens of an ios user. The app is very primitive - it is clown like in nature - I will tell you what I did that finally worked. When you get into the app, its going to ask you to sign into your BBY Account - do it...I skipped this thinking it wouldnt matter and it wouldnt let me add my "home" as a location. Once signed in, that was one less issue. Next, it will ask you for permission to link your Apple Home/ Keychain - I scoffed at this as that is none of their business - I found out later that by NOT doing this, it simply will NOT find your device. I dont know why, it makes no sense, but the instant that I gave it permission, BAM it found the switch. Lastly, you need to make sure that your phone that you are using to set it up is on the same network (and, if you have a wireless mesh system with multiple points) you need to make sure that the phone and the switch are on 2.4Ghz and on the same access point. If you want to connect it to your Amazon echo you simply go into the app and search for insignia under skills - link the account (you will need to use the sign on you created in step one for your BBY Account) to Alexa and then you are ready to go! Hope this helps - The instructions are garbage - the app is garbage - the switch is great.

Make sure to understand electrical wiring if you plan on installing yourself. Luckily I do but it still was a tad confusing as the unit needs to have power all the time so as to always be connected to internet.
Once wired I had no problem with initial setup using android phone, insignia and google home apps - but make sure your phone is close to the unit when setting up. You have to sign-in using your best buy account info - which to me isnt to much of an issue since best buy already had that info.
But after getting it all working I decided to rename the outlet which was easily done thru the insignia app but I had to refresh the google home app so it picked up the rename.
Worked great for 2 weeks then it stopped working. Reset it, uninstalled/re-installed software - nothing worked. Was getting ready to take it back when it started working. Insignia had updated its software and caused issues that I guess got fixed. So from now on when I see an insignia app update I always check it to make sure it is working afterward. It worked flawlessly since this issue.
I have it controlling the outside lights on our garage and its great to be able to turn the lights on remotely using my phone before we get home if out after dark.
VERY IMPORTANT - these only work with single switches, not with 2, 3 etc. way. Also would caution that the unit is deep. I installed in a box with 3 other switches and due to all of the wiring I had to move a couple around to get enough clearance to screw in this switch and put cover back on.
Definitely recommend especially since I got it on sale.

**WARNING: Your wall switch MUST have a NEUTRAL (typically white) line in order to use this product. There is NO way to bypass this requirement.**
I have had this product installed approximately two months-
Installation varies depending on your personal home, but it takes approximately 20-30 minutes for each physical install. The Insignia Connect app is lackluster at the moment, it may take multiple tries to achieve initial setup within the app. Integrating to third party voice control (I personally use Google Home) can be tricky at first. I highly recommend being "tech savvy" and having basic electrician skills or having a friend who can help if you purchase this product.
The product connection has been reliable, the switch does not show any wear and tear. Once setup has been completed, voice control is simple. You are able to set timers and also control the switches remotely using the app. Overall, I have enjoyed this product and would recommend it to a friend.

Cost Effective HomeKit Solution

If you're in the market for a HomeKit compatible in wall switch, you'll find you're options to be somewhat limited. Best Buy's Insignia brand is one of the few to offer this out of the box without additional hardware. This alone is what lead me this direction.
The installation process is fairly straightforward, and everything on the switch itself is clearly labeled. Everything aside from tools to remove your old switch is included, however be sure to read the instruction carefully before installing the switch. It should be noted, if you are not comfortable working with electrical wiring, you may want to consult a professional to help with installation.
Setup of the wall switch was extremely smooth, and linking to HomeKit was almost automatic. It should be noted that there are two copies of the HomeKit pairing sticker included. One on the switch itself, and one within the manual. I found this to be a nice touch and made setup extremely simple.
It should be noted that I found this in wall switch to be a bit slow on updating its status with HomeKit. I'm not sure if that's something to do with this particular switches integration of HomeKit or just the nature of this type of product.
I've also successfully used this device with Google Assistant as well.
If you're looking for an affordable smart switch to control a light fixture in your home. Insignia's offering is a suitable solution that's compatible with all three major digital assistants out of the box.

This is a great switch for someone who is looking to start small with Home automation. It was an easy install and simple connection to my wifi. It integrates with Apple’s HomeKit right away and the Alexa skill is added pretty quickly as well.
My only major gripe, is the wires on the back are a thick braided copper. I like to use the Push On Romex connectors, and getting the push ons on braided wire is impossible. I ended up having to break out my soldering iron and put some solder on the ends so they could slip into the clips easily. The green LED indicator can be obnoxious at times, as it is pretty bright. I’d like to see a firmware update that would allow us to either adjust the brightness of the LED, or allow us to turn off the indicator light completely.

For the most part this switch works. The only problem I have with it is that it tends to disconnect from my lights. I use with my amazon echo and it works fine when it stays connected. It does however got well into the wall unit and is easy to put together. Just make sure you cut the electricity to the switch before connecting it. The instructions are pretty good. I would recommend it with a slight hesitation but if you don’t mind having to reconnect it then you’ll like it. Besides the price is pretty good.

We love how descriptive, pictorial and intelligently the product manual is written. It does a great job explaining old and new wiring in most houses and how to install the new switch. It was a fun experience and the product works great. It is very soft to touch, quick and our favorite feature of home kit and Alexa integration is out of this world. Now we don’t have to fret getting up and out of bed to hit the light switch :)

I recently purchased 5 of these to complete my amazon alexa/homekit smart home. I can say that I bought these thinking that i would be returning them, based on the early reviews. Well they are not going back!
If you know how to install a light switch then thats really the only frustrating part, as i installed 4 of these in one 4-switch wall box. Downloading the app to get the switches working with your phone or voice assistant was a breeze. You download the app and sign into your best buy account. Then you need to add a device. It took about 3 minutes of waiting while it set up the first one, but after that I may have spent all of 30 seconds getting each of the others set up in the app and registered with apple's homekit. To get them to seamlessly tie in with Alexa, you, need to enable the skill insignia connect within the Alexa app. Simply sign in to your same best buy account you used to set up the switches in the first place and done. It took my echos about 5 minutes to register the new devices and I was good to go.
The best thing for me about these is they do not require a hub to be plugged into my router. I have enough stuff plugged in already.
With all of that being said... I'm not sure what everyone else is doing to make these not work. I have yet to encounter a time where i tried to turn the light(s) on with my phone or voice and it not worked. I have experienced a short 5-7 second delay from time to time, but that is uncommon.

Bought this instead if the tplink, should have stayed with the tplink. This thing was super easy to install getting it connected however took longer than the install, clear instructions but the device has a hard time connecting and staying online. If you have a lot of interference around your house I would go with a different brand. When its connected,it works just fine with my echo, it has an audible sound when the light turns off or on.

Recently purchased and it has changed my life. Integrated with Apple HomeKit seamlessly. It hasn’t missed a beat yet. It operates every time without fail. The only issue was during the install. My particular switch was in a three switch box and fitting this thicker switch in with all the wires was tough. This switch is about twice as thick as a normal switch.

Affordable Wifi Switch

An affordable alternative to some of the more widely branded switches. Needs no hub, and works well with wifi once connected. A bit finicky to connect at the beginning , but has stayed connected since then. Rocker switch note as tight as the higher cost brands, but you rarely touch the switch anyway. I buy every time they come on sale.

Little bit tricky to setup, make sure your internet is reliable, easy app with scheduling options works with Alexa and Google Home,
I wake up mi kids with the schedule options by turning on the lights and off the fan. Good product, I only pay like $25 I think $39.99 is overpriced specially with so many options on the market.

After struggling for 45 minutes to connect the wires to the correct existing ones in the wall, the product did toggle the lights just like I expected it to. It's a little thicker than the original light switch, but its minimal and insignificant and it still does an excellent job of manually toggling the power.
The APP on the other hand is absolute garbage! The menus are not well thought out and it doesn't offer troubleshooting tips while failing to set up the device. It wasn't able to sync the product for use on a family member's device and Alexa hasn't been able to find it yet (largely due to the account connectivity issues).
This smart switch fulfills its role as a $40 power toggler, and is likely able to connect to WIFI as well-- that's reliant on the cooperation of the companion application.

This switcher is one of the most inexpensive options I've found. Was fairly easy to install through the Insignia Connect app. Tried to install it to HomeKit though iOS Home app but was unsuccessful. Had to go with the Insignia app but was able to add it to my home after installation.

Functionality
While I haven't seen the connection issues others have (I have a Google wifi 3-Pack system) it does not honor the schedule I set from time to time. Occasionally, when leaving for work in the morning I'll find the outside lights which this switch controls still on when they are supposed to be off at 11:59pm the previous night. I consider this a minor annoyance and not on par with issues others are reporting in their reviews. Your opinion may differ.
Installation:
Installation was not rocket science. If you have ever installed a single pole switch this is no different.
App:
It's not the best I have seen with all the smart home apps and devices I am using currently, but it's not the worst either. It serves the intended purpose. Once you have set your schedule and added it Google Home or Alexa (assuming you are using either to control your devices) what else would you need it for?
Overall not a bad product.

Bought this one over other brands due to this one working with Apple HomeKit. Works great. Easy to use and install. Only reason why this is given 4 stars is that when installed in a multibox, it’s not flush with the cover. So it doesn’t look the cleanest when done.

Finished installing 5 of these in the kids’ rooms since I was tired of walking upstairs to turn off the lights every morning before heading off to school/work. The installation isn’t bad, but there may be some trial and error if you mix up the Line and Load wires. Didn’t cause any damage, it just wouldn’t work so I’d have to run back down and shut off the breaker again.
I agree with other reviewers that these make the gang boxes real tight due to the larger size and added wires, so it does take some effort to get it all in there.
Lastly, I had some trouble getting the first switch to show up in the HomeKit app. What I figured out was that you should do a factory reset on it before trying to find it in the app. Hold the reset button down 15 seconds...the light will flicker twice, then you know it’s done. After that, I had zero issues discovering and adding all 5 switches.

When attempting to perform setup the process requires you to have a bestbuy login, which doesn't help. You also need to search online for the Insignia Connect App in order to sync your device to your WiFi network. After it is connected it works fine.
