I was asked specifically to pick up this unit as there was an existing HDMI connection in the setup I was working with; however I think for the cost of this I would have much rather opted to purchase a USB-C to HDMI cable. Ideally this is my opinion only. I have reservations against wanting to purchase an adapter (therefore creating another potential item to go bad rather than a single item) instead of the simplest, least likely to fail setup in a single cable.

Not only is this adapter a good accessory to add a second display to a laptop, it also works great for mirroring tablets and smartphones two larger displays. You just need to ensure that your device supports display port alternate mode. This adapter is easy to setup and does not require a software driver.
