So far functions fine - can barely read the panel
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Seems to be functioning fine. We replaced a version that was a couple of years old due to moving to a new home. This version you can barely read the control panel and the words are not lit up, so giving this 3 stars. The older version we had it was easily readable and well lit up. Very disappointing to say the least.

Great features albeit missing one from my previous
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So really this review should be 4.5 (4 1/2) stars because I hate to knock an entire star off for one crucial missing feature - that being the internal LED cavity light that WAS present on my previous LG washing machine. You don't realize how important some features are until they are taken away. Now the addition of the APP controlled washing and notification is definitely a plus, along with the large capacity and many wash cycles / features. But not having that light simply floored me. How did a model from a few years ago get a light and the newer models do not have this? EVERY new washer should have this feature - even if its not used by many - those few that do appreciate it! Aside from that much missed feature, I would also agree with the other reviewer who stated about the control panel being difficult to read. LG- you are technology leaders - and your engineers can't add simple, low-cost features like back-lighting the control panel and internal drum lighting? Maybe you should make your engineers work in dimmer/darker rooms? The washer itself is, so far, unbeatable in other innovation. My clothes have never been cleaner and smelled better. I'm glad this one hammers my water lines less when filling unlike my previous model that would turn the water fill on/off at rapid intervals - I was always concerned about the downstream affect. Nonetheless I still think LG makes a superior product and would recommend it.

Love my LG!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this LG 5.0 360 turbo wash as a replacement for my Samsung front load washer. I did a ton of research! This LG checked all the boxes I was looking for in a washer. It has a large capacity yet it supports smaller loads and adjusts accordingly. The 360 turbo wash feature works great and uses way less water than my other washers. The cycle times are also shorter which is nice! It is energy star compliant and is an energy saver. It is extremely quiet. One of my favorite features which has been typically absent from most front load washers is the spin only cycle! Love that! It also allows you to stop the cycle and add items so I don't have to waste a load of water. So far it has been terrific! One thing that I would have liked better is that it is difficult to see the control panel at night as it only lights up what is selected. That is to say, it is not backlighted so choosing what you want is a bit difficult in low light to see your choices. Not a deal breaker but it would have been even better had they made the panel easier to see. The main cycle dial is a turnable knob which is a no-brainer. It gets you to the basic preset cycles, normal, permanent press etc. The control panel really fine-tunes the cycle....like temp adjustments, soil levels, spin levels etc.

Great features; dim display
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second LG washer -- the first one lasted 15 years before having any issues at all. In this case, it was a broken water pump that I probably could have replaced, but didn't want to bother. I've had this washer a week now, and I'm happy with it. The steam and wash functions are great and I like the dark grey color. My only complaints are with the control panel -- 1. bumping against it lightly will cause the wash to pause (annoying when you're using the top to fold laundry on). 2. Unless there is direct bright light shining on the front, it is hard to read the text of the options. That'll become less of a problem I guess when I learn where they all are. I'm really happy with the ThinQ smart features -- setting up and using the app was fast and easy, including the Google integration. Samsung really could take some pointers from LG about how to write software!

Terrible instructions!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The book that came with it has very little info on the operation of the machine. It says look online. There is some information on line, but not much. And it isn't clearly marked as to which item they are describing. There is a turbo wash button for which I can find NO information. It cuts the washing time in half and I can't stop it. Sometimes is comes on and I can't find a way to turn it off. My Kenmore Elite which we had for 20 years had clear marking of the buttons right on the machine. Unfortunately we need a new washer in a hurry and had no time to look into the features.
