Just a simple switch allowing you to run your router through it along with up to 5 different devices supporting a wired network. Simple to set up...plug it in, plug your router through it and then each of the wired devices you want to share your network with.

Have used Linksys products for years: Simple, reliable, and works as needed! Have a few of these to extend network access to pcs in the home business and the studio, where a wire connection is the safest option (do not want to have wifi usage issues when working with a client - wifi is left for the cell phones!!).

The Linksys SE3005 5-port Gigabit switch is ultra simple to install and use. It is a fanless design which means no noise and less to go wrong over time. A really nice feature is that the power and ports are all on the back side, but the indicator lights are on the front, which makes it great to have installed for tabletop use. As a bonus, it has a sturdy metal case!

All as advertised w/regard to this device! Easy setup, no issues with getting it installed and operating. Only challenge was where I was installing it - under my desk - can't blame that on Linksys!

I needed a network switch, without wifi, to work with a microcell, TV, and Bluray player. The microcell is sensitive to other wireless transmitters near by, and it can also be sensitive to lack of bandwidth of the wired ethernet connection... they'd rather you not run them through switches first. I have high speed cable (>150Mbps) and this little switch fit the bill perfectly.

Most network switches all provide similar performance, but the build quality of this Linksys is better than most inexpensive brands. I also like the Ethernet connectors on the front of the unit where you can see the sync lights.

Set up was a breeze. Set it up in line between my router and pcs for extra network ports. Set and forget... just the way it should be. Gigabit speed means no bottlenecks for any system on my network. Great price, too.

Excellent value. I get my full subscribed internet provider speeds through this switch 100mbs download and 50mbs upload.
