Must have that enhances your experience

The surface pen is a great addition to my Surface Pro 7 experience. I love that it magnetically attaches to the Surface. The magnets are strong enough that it will not haphazardly fall off. The tip of this pen is nice and smooth, I don’t have that tapping sound and feeling like the Apple Pencil. It feels like I am writing on paper which does enhance the writing experience. On the back end, it can be used as an “eraser “ when writing. Also, tapping the button will also bring up Windows Whiteboard, an easy tap when I need to take notes.
Again, the Surface Pen is a must have if you own a Surface computer.

I recently got the Microsoft Surface Pen, and it has significantly improved my productivity and creative workflow. The pen is highly responsive with virtually no lag, offering a natural writing and drawing experience. The pressure sensitivity makes it perfect for detailed sketches or precise note-taking.
Whether you're an artist, student, or professional, this pen enhances the Surface experience, especially with apps like OneNote or Adobe Suite. The magnetic attachment is convenient, and the battery life is impressive. I highly recommend it for anyone using a touch screen device. It would be a buy to not regret, plus it's compatible with all the devices I have.

OEM pen with Go2 for OneNote and doodling...

Used with a Surface Go 2 >> The Surface Pen is not a necessity, like the keyboard, but is definitely nice to have for taking notes and doodling. Since I use OneNote for keeping class notebooks, journals, and planning - a pen is essential to allow full use of the software. The pen sticks very nicely to the side of the Go 2, and I have discovered that the pen tip makes it much easier to touch those small icons on the taskbar. I had an older model 'second generation' pen (has the eraser tip with a 'clip' on the barrel) already in use, and this newer version is pretty much the same except for improved sensitivity to pressure, and the "tilt" function which is VERY nice to have when doodling. Those two improvements would make it worth the cost of buying this newest model pen if you do any drawing or doodling. If you are just taking notes and only interested in handwriting, the older model pen works pretty much the same for writing and recognition. The AAAA battery comes with it, and from what I have read does not need replacing very often. Pen automatically turns off when not in use, so no "button clicking" needed for it to be instantly ready to use when needed. Also picked up the 3-pack of assorted size tips to try out but haven't tried the different sizes yet to see if there is much difference. There are other pens out there, but check to see if they have Bluetooth (most do not) and check for 'eraser on top' function (most have button-push erasing). If you need the Bluetooth and like the 'eraser on top' method, then this pen is going to be the best solution. An OEM pen is usually the best device to use, unless you have a very good reason to try something else.
Stay Safe!

If you hate typing and love writing /drawing/doodling, the Surface pen is a great implement to have in your hand. It works with many apps ( adobe photoshop, one note, Microsoft to do, sketch, snippet, word etc.) hence getting familiarity with the device is essential.

I love this pen. It's very smooth and holds great on the hand. So far it seems to be flawless. I love the magnet that holds it to the computer side.

The pen is great with the Microsoft surface pro. I did try to get a cheaper pen with someone else but it just didn't cut it. The surface pen is definitely worth the buy oh and I mention the pen is magnetic and it clips naturally to either side of the computer and the top tip of the computer serves as a white board function and a eraser amongst other uses

I love this pen. It is so sleek and professional looking. It also has a very fine tip so you can use it for everything (including drawing small details, etc). The eraser is a very cool feature! The pen is magnetic and has a very strong grip with attached to the laptop so i don’t have to worry about it falling off. Overall i love it and am very satisfied! I would recommend!

Very easy to just pick up and use! I use it with my pdf annotator for exams and just general stuff on my tablet. I’m super happy to be able to use it like a normal pen and not worry about my hand on my tablet.

The Microsoft pen is an excellent, a must buy accessory for surface pro. The writing response is top notch and it has incredible palm rejection feature. The eraser feature is also a great feature because all you do is flip the pen and use the eraser like the way you use real like pencil. I actually have two of them now. I recommend it and i think you won’t regret buying it

The pen works great overall. Sometimes when you first use it after a while for some reason it changes the screen brightness and color, but maybe that’s related to my power settings, I’m not sure. The only downside and what I’m disappointed about is the very top of the pen. It’s a little piece of rubber supported by plastic which broke while I was writing notes. The pen still functions, but there is significantly more rubber exposed from the tip which is not starting to bend to one direction from use. I can’t find the warranty information anywhere on here, so I’m not even hopeful for an exchange. Overall it’s a good product, feels nice and has a good weight. It’s magnetic and attaches on the left side of the tablet. I’m left handed, so this is perfect for me, but I could see that being somewhat annoying if I were right handed, but certainly not a deal breaker by any means...it has to go somewhere.

I probably don't love this pen as much. As funny as it seems I lost my pen in between the couch. I had no idea it was even there. I went crazy looking for it then gave up. So I had to purchase another one. luckily It was at a discounted price online during offer. The pen that was lost eventually was found. Now I have two pens and there some members of my household were being accused of taking my first pen. Oops. The Surface pen works great! I have some issues with my Surface Pro 7 reading my surface pen but, overall great. The battery life is good. I prefer using batteries than using the slim pen and using a charger adapter.

Cannot purchase the Surface Pro 7 without one of these $80 styles/pens. I however lost the first pen within the first week then decided to retrofit the computer cover using some speaker wire like a leash haven't misplaced it since. These work great on this computer. A little pricey but isn't anything Microsoft.

Since the Surface comes piecemeal, you have to decide if you want the accessories to go with it. Obviously, the keyboard would be number 1 for most (myself included), but as a desktop guy, I'm not a fan of keyboard trackpads. That's where the Pen comes in.
Although it is a versatile instrument, and I use it for 2 things: writing on the screen in Office365, and as a mouse. It is much faster than the trackpad and more accurate. For that reason alone makes it worth the purchase.
