Sometimes it's a little hard to write neatly, but that's probably more due to the sensitivity of my Surface Book 3 screen. (I wouldn't recommend the Surface Book itself. It's a piece of junk and has given me nothing but problems.) There's a feature on the pen where you can double click to take a screenshot, and that's pretty convenient.
