    Purchased this switch to replace an older 8 port. Had run out of 1gig ports. Not much to installing this 16 port switch. Plug and go. Did read the installation manual, and on the back for "Network Cable" it states "Category 5e or better Ethernet cable", which got me to check the dozens of cables I had already in my network. Found that I had two old cat5 cables running to 1 gig devices. Replaced them with cat5e. First time I've read an Installation guide in years. But it's a good hint - check your cables.
