Ok in a pinch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've purchased and used a LOT of switches- this is not bad for SOHO but definitely not for business core. Great in a pinch if you need something tomorrow.

It's a switch...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the 5-port and 8-port versions of this same switch. Ran out of ports on my 8-port GS108, so decided to get the 16-port version. Not much to install - it's a switch. DO NOTE HOWEVER, that the power supply for the GS116 is *different* from the GS108 (at least from what I got). The GS108 had a 12V, 1.0A power supply. The GS116 on the other hand has a 12V, 1.5A power supply, so if you're upgrading be sure to swap BOTH the switch itself AND the power supply. Other than that, not much else to say. It's a ProSafe product, so it has a lifetime guarantee. A single 16-port switch costs more than two 8-port switches, but it's more convenient to have a single 16-port switch for me.

Good quality and value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I prefer wires to wireless, so with every room wired, I needed a switch with a decent amount of ports. The Netgear ProSafe series has a metal enclosure, a lifetime warranty and just happened to be on sale. It was a simple plug and play setup and everything runs well. It's low profile and seems to run cool. I've tried other switches including Netgear's non ProSafe series, which had a plastic chassis and didn't last much past the one year warranty. I would recommend this switch if you're looking for something that will last.

Solid Switch - Get It!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a solid Gigabit switch! The price difference between the model below this one (8port?) and this 16 port, is a no brainer. I have half the ports unused, but plenty of room to grow! Perfect switch for adding more ports to your router! Plug & Forget - Plug in the switch to your router, plug your devices into the switch, and it just works :) PS: If your Gigabit all the way, use Cat6 ethernet cables. My Setup: Modem: Arris SB8200 Router: Linksys WRT1900ACS v2 Switch: Netgear 16 port Gigabit switch - GS116NA
