I have always used this netgear for all of my switches and this one is great. Just plugin and off and running. Perfect amount of ports for all my devices in my house.

We have 7 computers wired into this switch and have had NO problems with it at all. We've had the switch for ~4 months and haven't had to reboot it even once.

If you have a lot of wired devices e.g. in my instance game consoles, this is the device for you. Many ports to future proof your life and speeds are excellent.

I have large house that was previously used for commercial and have been converting the existing cat5 based PBX wiring into ethernet. I was using a netgear 8 port switch but there were stability issues (suspect wiring) but as I finished replacing jacks 9 and 10, I upgraded to the 16port switch. The whole network is more stable now and even through its old cat 5 ( not even cat5e ) I'm getting the full 1000Mbps on most ports...even on connections with more than 200ft of cable. With 400Mbps internet, a gigbit is needed to take advantage of it.

I needed extra ports, as more capacity was developed at my office. Have used it for couple months, and have had no issues. Nice little Ethernet switch.

Needed to purchase a few of these for a client in an emergency, they are holding up well and performing great. And they were at a decent price point too.

The Blue Netgear unmanaged switches are the gold standard for reliable, no-hassle Gigabit switches. I've used the GS105 and GS108 for years. To reduce spanning-tree problems (and eliminate a non-Netgear swtich), I purchased this 16-port version. It's been a month, but so far, so good. And as far as I can tell, I don't see any major spanning-tree issues if I plug or unplug a switch off of one if this one's ports.
