This is a solid Gigabit switch! The price difference between the model below this one (8port?) and this 16 port, is a no brainer. I have half the ports unused, but plenty of room to grow!
Perfect switch for adding more ports to your router!
Plug & Forget - Plug in the switch to your router, plug your devices into the switch, and it just works :)
PS: If your Gigabit all the way, use Cat6 ethernet cables.
My Setup:
Modem: Arris SB8200
Router: Linksys WRT1900ACS v2
Switch: Netgear 16 port Gigabit switch - GS116NA

Setting up the Netgear 16-Port Switch was a breeze. Its plug-and-play functionality allows for a hassle-free installation - simply connect the Ethernet cables, and you're good to go. The switch is also compatible with various operating systems, making it versatile for different user preferences.

I've used this daily for almost 4 years with zero problems. Although the price may seem high I've found that with IT equipment often you get what you pay for. I would buy it again.
By the way, you may have to find it on the shelf yourself. Sales staff may not know where it is as they didn't seem knowledgeable about Cat6 or Cat6 equipment when I bought mine. Kept trying to sell me Cat5 and Cat5e items and I had to find this one myself.

Needed to extend my home network as my ISP router only had 4 ports and they were all used up. Took one of the four ports, connected to this switch, plugged in the other devices and had no problem with Internet access nor with any DL/UL speed. Would recommend this product to anyone looking to do the same.

I used this 16 port Gigabit Ethernet switch in my customers house. They had several 4 port switches daisy chained together a big mess. This unit which I wall mounted cleaned up this big mess and was very easy to install. The lights confirmed Connectivity through out the house. Thanks for this unit.

This switch (router) was really simple. Just had to plug in power cord and ethernet wires, and it was up and running without any issues. No special software to install, and no "Geek Squad" assistance needed.

Great Switch. Very easy to install! Our new house was pre-wired with Ethernet ports. We placed the switch in our central box and now all the rooms have Internet access.
