Whatever you need in an unmanaged switch, this thing should be able to do. These Netgear blue switches in 4 and 8 port models have a long history of being very stable for me. The price is great too. This is the switch.

One of the best unmanaged switches on the market. I have owned 5 of these and none have failed over years of use! The build quality is excellent. I highly recommend.

bought this along with the google nest pro 6e because i needed multiple eathernet ports that are not present in the router and each port works perfectly

Belkin does a great job with their products. While this is not a managed switch, I am using this to deliver my internet connection to multiple devices, such as my TV, Receiver, BluRay player. I used this one to replace a 5 port Belkin. It is plug and play.
It does what it is supposed to do at a fair price.

I recently upgraded my internet speed and needed a new switch to handle the speed. The product does what I was expected it to do and it works very well. A very good product for those looking to go into Gigabit speed.

Needed some extra ethernet ports for wired equipment I was adding. Just pluged it into one of my routers LAN ports and bingo... more capacity for wired stuff. I prefere using wired ethernet to my router to get the download speed that is way better than wireless.

Used this for about 3 months now and it is a plug it in and forget about it. I do have an issue with getting my Netgear wireless router working with it. I can plug the switch into the wireless router no issues, but not the other way around.

Used both 8 and 16 port ProSafe switches many times, with these I see much better performance then something 20 quid cheaper like the DSG-2208 and they are clean looking switches that are great for home installs.

I posted a review earlier today for the 16 port version of this Netgear Ethernet switch (which I purchased more recently), where I incorrectly referenced the FS series of the Ethernet switch instead of the GS version of the Ethernet switch. (All my Netgear Ethernet switches are GS series switches, not FS series switches.) As such the same sentiments apply for this Netgear GS108 Ethernet switch. I have purchased four Netgear GS ethernet switches over the last 15 years, and I love the durability and dependability of these Netgear Ethernet switches. Have the GS105, GS108, and GS116 Netgear Ethernet switches in my home network (the GS105 having been acquired circa 2005), and I gave my brother my other GS108 because he needed a dependable Ethernet switch for his home. Got this unit also on sale at Best Buy, so it was an even better value.

This unit is completely plug-and-play. Just connect your wires and you are good to go. I did not have any issues or speed degradation. Because of this little device, I was able to have wired internet in all of the room in my house and it never gave me any issues.
