My only concern is that it creates a new network that devices need to connect to, not simply "extending" the signal of the current network.

It works OK but not as great as we had hoped it would.

Works and Provides a Long Range

Not sure if it's the modem or extender. I usually restart the modem and turn off/on the extender in order to reboot.
