Not even close. I have 450Mbps across my base wifi and get 10-20Mbps on this extender. I tried changing channels, checking both end's setup, no improvement. NetGear support answer is basically, "yes, it will be slower." Maybe buy the cheaper slower extender, but I wouldn't waste my money at this price.
