The net gear nighthawk has been so far the best Wi-Fi extension I bought it about 6 months ago and I have not yet ran into any problems the rang on the adapter reaches far and still give a strong connection from the distance I’m from the router I’m about 30 feet away from the router and connecting via Ethernet from close with the adapter the set up of it is simple to use too I highly recommend this item

Review as range extender not an access point.

Purchased this as a range extender as opposed to an access point. Works well with low latency and has an excellent signal strength. I have a much higher dBm signal at my access point from the extender than I do at the extender from the access point. Advertised as 10,000 square feet (which is only 56 feet radius) I still had a strong signal in my neighbor's garage over 150 feet away. Great if you live in a rural area, not so good if you live in an apartment complex.
As a range extender they have little in the ways of tools to monitor the device or add QoS. Unlike an access point which gives you an IP address to login and monitor. Also no way of reducing power if you don't really want your neighbors getting your strong signal.
There are lower priced devices (half to a third) the cost of this device which do the exact same job as a range extender.
The device works as promised and as an access point has all the features you'd expect at this price point so I would recommend it to a friend. As a range extender I would recommend a lower priced model.

Great range extender + gb ports bonus

This does what it is expected to do. I get improved wi-fi connectivity in both my front and back yards and garage. A very simple process to install and connect. It did almost all the work for me! The free app that measures signal is very easy to use and to compare different network options to help you make the best choice. I might have gone cheaper and achieved acceptable results, but the ability to add wired GB ports via this extender provides options for the future and now if needed for the home network. Everything will be connected so may as well be prepared. Also, all those who want to save a little money and risk a weaker wi-fi signal, raise your hands! Better to invest some of your Starbucks or beer money in this if you need an extender for peace of mind and enjoy your beverage while you do your email outdoors. I would like to have the option to mount this on a wall but it has no options to do this on the plastic case, only the option to use the included stand. If I really needed it, I could devise a method for a wall mount, but having molded in hanger openings in the plastic case is simple enough design that is missing but should be included.

Solid after firmware updates

This has been in service for about a month now & has been giving us trouble free operation once the firmware was updated to our Netgear Nighthawk x6 AC3200 router and this extender. Love the new software that allows you to see the signal strength to assist with locating the extender. First time initial setup was performed in a rush using the WPS button on router. This resulted in sporadic disconnects and fluctuating signal strength. When time permitted did the expanded installation instructions with all firmware updates. Once updated, signal locked in quickly on all our devices & has been rock solid. Now have excellent signal strength throughout entire house. Highly recommended.

There was nothing more irritating than being asked to sign into my neighbor's wi-fi when using my IPhone all the way across the house from the computer. I asked the Geek Squad assistant at Best Buy for their best range extender, & now I can't believe how awesome Nighthawk is for around $100. Using my iPhone anywhere in the house is now stress-free!

I live with two other people who are college students like myself. Our internet is placed on the other end of our house and it is hard to access what we need for studying (and gaming) in our rooms.
I've had trouble in the past with different range extenders. And so I decided to do one last try, go big or go home so to speak.
I followed the instructions to the letter (easy to follow instructions). And this has been an amazing purchase since setting it up. My internet speed on the end of the house where we need good connection is incredible and reliable.
It has exceeded my expectations.

I have spotty wifi in the back yard. I put this in my detached garage since a I have a few wifi devices out there (myQ web camera, garage door opener, Alexa speaker and Nest thermostat for the heater). It works great. Setup was easy and it will be great this summer when sitting outside on the deck and surfing the web on my cell phone which was tough before.

I purchased a different brand that plugged/hugged the wall. Complete garbage. This unit is providing excellent service 125 feet from the unit and decent signal strength from 200 feet. No obstruction. I watched a YouTube video for setup. Easy. I have not logged into the unit yet. It works so well why worry about it. Great unit, great speed, easy setup. Superior to wall plug in units. In fact, there is no comparison. This unit is awesome.

I live in a 100 year old victorian home that has walls made of wood, not sheetrock, that are very hard to penetrate. I bought this router to extend my network to the second floor and it did not disappoint. The firmware is solid, it is easy to setup and I would strongly recommend this extender to anyone as one of the best on the market.

Bought this to replace a linksys extender to pair up with the Netgear X6 R8000 router (which also replaced a linksys unit), and very impressed so far. Between the two (router & extender) on a wired connection to the extender, has given my computer back the speed of as if it were connected straight to the modem. My PS4 now has full speed of my isp service. Very easy to setup and get running, and full of features the old extender didn't have.

Bought this unit about 3 months ago. It was easy enough to setup, took about 10 minutes from the time I got home. It is one room away from my wireless router (about 15 feet), but will intermittently drop the wifi connection. This typically happens about once or twice a week, for about 3 seconds, which unfortunately is just long enough to drop my VPN connections. Other than that, it works great, even to the outdoors.

The device did exactly what the sales rep in Benton harbor mi (Johnny isacs) told me it would do. Extended out internal coverage and sped thing up. We were able to integrate all wireless devices (Samsung tv, netgear wireless USB adapters added to older pc's, cell phones, laptops, att verse wireless terminals etc.
Overall a very positive and simple experience.

I purchased this extender as I wanted to move my router into a central location in my basement. I must admit that I was more than a little nervous about it. I picked out my spot upstairs in main living area, plugged it in, pressed the WPS button, wne to downstairs and did the same thing with my router. BOOM! I was off to the races, it synced right up to the router, I had complete coverage throughout house (with more to spare). Easy to use, great coverage and it even looks cool.

I read reviews on this before purchasing and the reviewers were not wrong. This extender definitely does the job perfectly. It actually has more range than my router. I can sit in my chair with the router on the other side of the wall and get a full signal, but I can also catch the extender at the other end of the house from the same spot with full signal. No more dead spots here.

This extender has amazing range. It is simple to connect, just push a button on your router and a button on the extender and your done. I use it in the bedroom. I have my smart TV my Xbox and my blue ray player connected to the ports on the back of the extender. I never see any lag and Netflix and all my games stream flawlessly.
