I live in a three story home and have the main router in the basement. Needless to say, coverage on the third floor was about nil and there was no good location on the second floor for the router. The Nighthawk AC1900 was easy to set up and expanded my coverage substantially.

I expected better coverage but it has far exceeded myexpectations. I thought when i tested in house that the best i would get was were i placed the access point but it covers my 4500sq ft house like i am right by the router ... where i use to stand and only get 15mbps i now get over 50 .. definite recommend

Long story short, if you're with Spectrum there may be some issues. Firstly, any wifi router that leaves the channels on Auto from Spectrum simply doesn't reconnect to the new channels the 2.4 or 5ghz wireless bands. The more complex issue here is that upon further configuring the Extender, especially with Spectrum as the main hardware (modem and separate router/wifi AP), logging into MyWifiEXT URL and performing the firmware update resulted in far too many connectivity problems. The most common being unable to get an IP address for any device that connects to the extender; despite the extender explicitly showing it successfully connected to the main wifi signal and has internet gateway availability. The resolution (after much searching and headache) was to downgrade the firmware to a previous version. The firmware update is a glaring issue I think they need to address, but outside of that (and again, some of that could be on the particular security methods of the ISP's hardware and not completely the fault of Netgear), the hardware works well. WPS button method makes setup super easy. The config options like being able to run in dual-band or single, separate bands for "linking" and device connectivity, can make this extender really versatile depending on your wireless needs. I also appreciate the inclusion of the USB 3 port on the front for ReadyShare USB and ReadyShare Print capabilities. And, of course, the power of the signals for the extender really are pretty high. I'd still recommend this device to people wanting a speedy and robust wifi extender, just beware of the potential issues I encountered (and many others apparently, after seeing Netgear's forums). PS- another thing to watch out for when using Static channel assignments (especially when many surrounding wifi sources are crowding your airspace) is that the signal can and often does get "bogged down" over time, resulting in poorer and poorer performance, or sluggishness.

Great signal strength and range. Had a hard time with setup to maintain a reliable connection. Had to find the perfect spot in the home. And the one WiFi name option was not working for me. It would have to be restarted almost daily. Per netgear forum suggestions I gave it a separate network name and have not had as many issues.

The reason i bought this Wifi Extender was because i needed more range zone outside my home. When i first installed it took me two tries but i got it to work now my internet is faster and i get more range outside my home and i also purchased it when it was on sale. Its a good wifi to have.

I needed to boost my wireless signal from the back of my house to the garage in order to gain signal strength to wireless security cameras. After reading the reviews online I purchased the Netgear Nighthawk AC-1900 and the install was flawless. The enclosed directions were easy to follow and connecting to my home wireless router was complete within a few minutes.

I have a 2200 square foot tract house. I use this in combination with the Verizon Fios Quantum Gateway router which puts out both 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands. This NetGear unit boosts both signals very well and enables me to have great signal anywhere in my house (on either band) both upstairs and downstairs. Speeds are crazy fast on the 5ghz band!

I wanted an extender that would take care of low signal areas in my home and this extender does a great job. It was easy to install and setup. I like the fact that I can plug in a USB drive to the extender and access it from all the computers on the network.

This router extender did the job in a home where interior walls pose a problem for wireless communication. Very easy set up and the product has worked flawlessly since installation, about 3 weeks ago. Have already recommended the product to friends.

I work from home for an IT company and spend a lot of time on video calls for work. Before getting this router, I had some issues with performance even with the highest internet connection my provider could give me. After getting this router, I am actually able to achieve line speed and have not had a dropped call since. It provides very advanced features like DDNS and a VPN server for users who want to access their environment while on the go. I highly recommend this router.

By far the best extender I have owned. I can actually hit this extender for 100 yds away from it's location on the second floor of my house. Previously had one of the lower model extenders. This one gives me well over 60% more range and stronger signal. Worth the additional cost.

The range on this unit is great. Reaches the whole house without any issues. I was even able to place the unit in my grandmother's house and use it to add internet access. It is able to latch on to the 2.4 and 5 Ghz signals from one house to the other with a house in between.

My old router had a hard time handling a lot of different computers online at the same time. This router has no problem handling multiple devices. It also handles devices that are further away. It is a great router.

Great range, easy to set-up! Only issue I have is that my Lg G4 will not connect to the 5ghz side of the extender. It will connect to my routers 5ghz band but not the Net Gear 5ghz extender. May be my phone, don't know... But overall works fantastic.

Have a fairly large house with router in basement. Had difficulty with signal strength and connectivity outside and on the second floor. This was mainly due to how bad Comcast sucks and their signal is weak, but this range extender worked great. Hated to spend the money, but now we have 2G and 5G connectivity everywhere in the house and upwards of 100 feet outside the house. I have all my electronics connected as well as the kids electronics connected at the same time and the signal is still very strong. NETFLIX has never streamed so quick! Set-up took about 20 minutes and had to use computer for initial set-up.

I like this extender. It was easy to set up and it has great coverage including outside but I was hoping it would also sub as a repeater. It is not a big deal but you do have to connect and disconnect from it and I was hoping that my original wifi would not fight with this and auto change over. I also wish you could use an external detachable incoming antenna and you can not on this but other than that if you are looking for a long range extender I would say this is a good fit for the cost

The reason I have started searching for a WIFI repeater is that, my router is on 1st floor living room and my office is on 2nd floor diagonally opposite to the router. The signal strength for the 5GHz shows only one line. After researching hundreds of reviews for various product, I have come to a conclusion and I picked this one, Nighthawk AC1900. First I thought to place it in the middle. But I did not get best results. Therefore I have kept it in my office on the 2nd floor, right below my table. I got the best results when I turned all the antenna to 45 degree. Now I'm getting all lines signal strenth for 5MHz. No other complaints. No disconnection. It works good. Just like the direct wifi connection. Thats all. Thank you. Enjoy!

I bought this to expand the range of the Netgear AC1750 I purchased. Setup was very easy using the Negear Genie software and I have much better coverage throughout my house than I had previously.
