Awesome camera!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera was an upgrade from my D3100 and you definitely get more bang for the bucks! The D500 is by far superior to my previous camera. I've joined some photo groups to get me out shooting. I was able to use the same lenses. Had to get a new remote Velo trigger bc although the manual said it was compatible, it wasn't. I have a lot to learn but so far I'm not disappointed and now have a camera worthy of learning properly. I have had no regrets with the investment.

The best APS-C Camera, period, even 2 years on
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It responds instantly as though responding to my thoughts, the AF sensors cover the entire frame thanks to its APS-C frame size, the high ISO noise isn't objectionable even at staggeringly high ISOs, this is still 2 years on the camera to beat. The only gripes about it: no on-sensor PDAF (though its CDAF is still the best) and the D5 generation cameras removed EasyISO. That's the only problems I've found with it.

Great camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked this over the D750 after a long research process and I'm not disappointed. Great camera. Super fast. Great in low light. Would have preferred two sd slots over the xqd but no biggie. Had to pull the battery because everything froze once. Not sure what that was about but never happened again.

Amazing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been shooting with Nikon my whole life. When my D3 broke and Nikon could not replace or repair it got me a D500. Never the less I was nervous about this. But I am beyond impressed and happy with this camera. I have not looked back and looking to buy another as a backup! Nature, sports or just someone moving to the next level this is a great buy!

New, nice, and a few disappointments
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I stepped up to the D500 from a D7100. Comparatively this thing sees in the dark, much faster speeds with no dig octant grain until you hit the + ISO settings. Continuous shooting is amazingly fast. But I do miss a built-in flash, mostly as a commander for a CLS off-camera flash. Nikon does seem to love add-on dongles, so you need one for a wireless shutter release, and the IR from the 7100 won't work. "WiFi enabled" seems a bit of an overstatement at this point, and the key feature of snapbridge wont be ready for iOS for another month. But for the most part I'm enjoying it

Great sports camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the fastest fps, up to 10 fps. My Nikon D500 is 5fps. Takes a XQD card which is expensive

Best In Class
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera body is one of Nikon's best ever. With so many focus points and 10FPS, it suits every need that I have. The sharpness and laser fast autofocus system makes it the best choice for action sports and wildlife. The extra programmable control button is another great feature giving the user more options for dedicated on the fly controls.

Amazing Camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this camera for just over a month and absolutely love it. I do a lot of nature and wildlife photography and this is just a dream camera. I actually switched from Canon and to Nikon specifically for this. It feels great in the hand. All the controls are where it makes sense for them to be. Image quality is stunning. It's a must buy for an action or wildlife photographer!

The Machine gun of Cameras
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, WoW. I have this paired with a 200/500 f5.6 lens and i have turned the shutter control to the slower setting, The first time i pushed the shutter release i took 20 pictures. It is blazing fast... Controls are set up like most of the other nikon camera and the menus are as well... Focus and tracking amazing.. thats all i can say. Picture quality? I personally dont feel like the quality is better then the 7200 and D610.. Now im not a professional but i have been shooting for 10 plus years.... This camera has a special spot in the DSLR family and that would be for anything that moves and moves fast... If weddings are what you are looking to do with camera i would go with a D810 or D750, Even the D610 would be better but you will loss the fast auto focus... If your up grading from an older nikon then i would consider this, But if you are looking to move up from a camera that was purchased less then 6 months ago i would pass since the 2000$ Price is kinda steep.

Incredible Camera - Nikon D500
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We previously had the Nikon D5100 and the D500 blows that one out of the water. There is no 'auto' so you will need to know and set your own camera settings (Aperture, ISO, etc.) but the easy access dials on this camera make that painless. You may also save setting combinations so you can go right back to it without having to reset things each time depending on your situation. I love my D500 purchase.

Tremendous bang for buck in a professional DX body
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Truth be told this is my second D500. Truly a professional camera with exceptional low light capability and up to 10 frames a second with accurate focus.

EXCEPTIONAL DLSR
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this camera after reading positive reviews about being a great camera in shooting wildlife and boy it didn't disappoint. With 10 fps I was able to capture shots that i would regularly missed. This camera shoots with fast focus too. Im not a professional photographer but I feel like one whenever I shoot images with this camera. Thanks Nikon for making an exceptional DLSR.

Excellent so far!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this camera! Granted, it's only my second one but i still love it. Outgrew a d3400 and stepped up to this d500. I would have gone full frame but i wanted to use all of my old lenses. This camera has features for days and you can use the users manual as a boat anchor or to kill an intruder. Very substantial. Love my new cam!

One word, amazing!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera is amazing! You can't realize the action shots you are missing until you try shooting with 10 frames per second. It gives you many more choices of wing placement with birds in flight. The group AF tracking is a big step above all my other cameras. If you shoot sports or wildlife you have to try this camera! I can't say enough good things about it.

Great Camera, as you would expect
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Long time Nikon user, avid amateur, occasional professional. This is my third Nikon DSLR. Likes: Higher reso images, much better ISO range, faster image processing, more intuitive controls. Dislikes: They took away the little pop-up flash, yet another type of battery and memory card. More to buy and store. How about some compatibility across cameras.

gr8 camera
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Even tho it's an APS-C, it takes gr8 pics! The XQD card is a bit expensive, it takes pics fast n no slowdown waiting on buffer!! Love this camera!! I love the ISO button close to the shoot button, the buttons for Qual, Mode, WB, n Meter buttons on top for easy access!

Great partner with D850!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera is great by itself or paired with a D850 for best overall action shot potential. Used with Nikkor 200-500mm zoom lens, you get the equivalent of approximately effective 750mm max zoom. Great images from cropped sensor camera. Uses same internal battery as the D850.

Great camera
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great camera for the price. I have the D850 and all the controls are the same so it makes switching from one camera to the other much easier. Being a DX it’s nice to have the extra reach when you need it. The camera is very quit and fast. Feels like a pro camera

Great camera upgrade and worth the money, however
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded from a Nikon D7100 and I have been mostly satisfied with my purchase. The quality of the pictures is exceptional and the ability to get sharp sports and wildlife images is fantastic. I am not impressed at all with Nikon's software for bluetooth transfer. Clearly this is not Nikon's area of expertise. I have had an issue with the camera malfunctioning in cold temperatures (24-30F) showing and Err message and saying no memory card present (?). The issue goes away after a minute or two and by turning the camera on and off. It has happened several times in different days. Overall, I like the pictures very much, the controls and features, and have no regrets. However, not perfect yet though Nikon!
