RING should provide better instructions. I tried to call. RING but their agent was very difficult to understand due to their heavy accent. I resolved the issue by reaching for a You Tube video which explained how to open the base without damaging the casing.

You can’t beat RING

This one is a great camera however it cannot be hardwired so be aware of that but it’s a plug-in and it does extremely well.

Only issue I had was couldn’t connect to WiFi extender , but pretty sure it wasn’t camera because it connected to reg WiFi
