Customers enjoy the Arc5 Automatic Cleaning/Charging Wet/Dry Electric Shaver's superior shaving quality and ease of use. The cleaning station and quiet operation are also frequently praised, along with its good battery life and competitive price. A small number of users found the trimmer somewhat difficult to use.

This is the first electric shaver I've used in over 30 years. I did a lot of reading of reviews in newspapers as well as online. I do not put much stock in Yelp reviews.
This shaver works very well wet or dry and the price point was ideal for my budget. The version with the Cleaning and Charging station is a nice option, but it doesn't change the model of the shaver. Even so, the cleaning process is something I use once a week or so.
The Panasonic detergent is all I have used, other than occasional hand soap spread across the top when I don't use the cleaning base. It takes a few weeks to get used to this or any electric if you're used to using blade razors. Give it time. It's well worth the effort.
Works very well with Aveno or the Target brand of shaving cream or even dry. I haven't used Lectric Shave or other skin prep products. Recommended.

I must tell you I am pretty Old School. I go back a ways as an 70's baby. My dad had an electric razor "Norelco" and I believe I tried it as a young man say 27 years old and thought to myself. I will Never own and use an electric razor *EVER* in my life because "They Suck" at cutting close and leaving a close/clean shave (Like A Top Quality Razor). Well this Bad Boy Has Changed That Thought *Forever* I love this shaver ((I am a 16 year retired US Army Veteran who keeps his shaven head Military crew cut clean. This Arc5 shaves just as close as a Gillette 3 Blade top quality Sensor Excell and my head and beard are as smooth as a Baby's Butt..LOL.

After using Braun's best for many years, I decided to give the Panasonic a shot. There are some really thorough reviews of this razor elsewhere online, but in brief, it delivers a very close shave, and the cleaning station works very well.
Cons: Some reviews mention that this shaver is not particularly good for sensitive faces, and I can see that as being valid, however my face is not what I would call particularly sensitive, and I have not found this razor prone to irritate my skin. The shaver head is pretty large, but this really only affects shaving below the nose
Pros: Price is a little less than the comparable Braun, and the shave is just a bit closer than the Braun. This is noticeable after shaving, and late in the day (less shadow) as well. The cleaning station cleans the head better than the Braun based on my experience with both, however I do miss the lemony-machine oil smell that the Braun cleaning solution leaves. The Panasonic's solution cleans the shaver very effectively, and leaves no noticeable scent or oily residue at all. I also think this razor is slightly quieter than the Braun, or at least, the pitch is a little different.
I have had mixed results over the years with Braun replacement cutter foil cartridges, with some being sub-par. From my research, the Panasonic is its top competitor. Both offer several days to try the razor and return it if you don't like it, and both seem to be outstanding razors. I think the Panasonic holds the edge when it comes to closeness and cleaning station effectiveness, and hopefully, consistently top quality replacement cutter foil cartridges.

I am 21 years old and a woman. There's this whole stigma about women shaving. IF THIS BOTHERS YOU THEN PLEASE DON'T EVEN BOTHER READING. I bought this after being tired of my regular razors. Even the most expensive women's razors are poorly made and offer no strong or long term use. I'm not saying this is going to last forever because you may need to change the blades and replace some parts but I see this definitely lasting longer than any women's razor. I just got this today and I might seem a little bias because I've only just used it once. The packaging came greatly secured with labels directing mailing services on how to handle my product. The electric razor itself looks really nice and feels really well made. It came with a one time use of a liquid cleaning solution, travel bag for the shaver, as well as the charging/cleaning dock and adapter. It is a nice weight and comfortable design. It wasn't too hard to set up and not too hard to learn to use. I didn't read the manual and all that although i will later. I came into this with my legs the hairiest they've ever been in order to see how effective this would be (I planned to purchase this for a while). What I found helpful was the pop up trimmer, this really helped with my hair being kind of long. I did this first then continued with the 5 blades to get a close shave. The shave itself came close and my skin feels extremely smooth. Yes, there are a couple of stragglers but very very minimal. What i liked about this compared to my Venus shaver is that I did not get many razor burns. I have extremely dry skin and usually I'd get razor burns and get cut easily it was just really painful and I could not put up with it anymore. With this, gliding was comfortable with the pivoting head and blades. The only cuts and burns that i do have are very minimal and caused by the pop up trimmer and i think it is because it doesn't have a protective guard as the 5 blades do and i'm pretty sure that's because the trimmer is supposed to shave darker and rougher hairs. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

I am happy with this razor so far. Has good battery life and gives me a closer shave than my previous Remington razor and with no painful pulling either like my past razors did. I especially like the cleaning station. I never had a razor with a self-cleaning feature and it keeps the razor feeling like new. Time will tell how long the blades last but it seems like the razor will give a good shave for quite a while before the blades need replacing.

Better than other electric shaver I've ever used

Over the course of the past 10 years, I've used just about every highly rated electric shaver on the market. Prior to purchasing this, I tried out a Philips Norelco S9721/87, Shaver 9700, for which I gave a stellar review. Unfortunately, after using it for just a week, the digital display stopped working and I returned it to Amazon. It was an excellent shaver, but it would appear that quality control is an issue.
Aside from my brief experience with the Norelco, my previous shavers over the past 10 years, have been a 3 blade Panasonic, the Panasonic ES-LV81-K Arc5, and the Braun Series 7 790cc. None of these provided a particularly close shave.
Recently, based on the numerous 5 star reviews, I purchased the Braun Series 9 9095cc wet/dry shaver using a 20% off coupon at Bed Bath and Beyond. Despite the claims made by the manufacturer, this shaver performed no better than the previous Braun series 7 model. In addition, while it's advertised as a wet/dry model, it can't be used with foam or gel shaving cream, as that will damage the included cleaning device. Seems kind of ludicrous to me.
As a last resort, I went ahead and purchased the Philips Norelco S9721/87, Shaver 9700. Since I've never owned an electric shaver that's provided me with a close shave, I wasn't expecting much from this. I was wrong. Unfortunately, as mentioned above, I had to return it to Amazon due to a defective digital display. That's where the Panasonic ES-LV95-S Arc5 comes into play.
Again, based on the positive reviews, I went ahead and purchased this shaver. Without a doubt, this shaver surpasses every other shaver that I've used to date. It provides an exceptionally close shave and does so without irritating my skin. It also comes with a built-in device that gauges the thickness of your beard. This means that it will provide a more aggressive shave to those areas in need. All I can say, and all that really matters, is that this shaver performs flawlessly and allows for a shave that's as close to a manual blade as possible.
The only area where I think that Panasonic could improve, is on the self-cleaning system. Unlike previous models, where you installed a cartridge once a month, on this one you pour a packet of cleaning solution into a tray, and mix it with water. The old cartridge system was a little easier, but it too had issues. I'm kind of surprised that Panasonic never adopted the type of cleaning system used by Braun, Norelco and others. With their models, you simply place a new cleaning cartridge in the bottom of the cleaning system when indicated to do so. Panasonic has always been a little different in that regard. Prior units used a cartridge, but you still had to clean and fill a water reservoir on a monthly basis. Anyway, as mentioned, this isn't a big deal.
The bottom line is that I can't imagine a better shaver than the Panasonic ES-LV95-S. For those who don't want to bother with the cleaning system, this shaver is available as a stand alone unit, Panasonic ES-LV65-S.

LOVE IT! I have been using cheap Philips-Norelco electric razors for years and when that one died I decided to upgrade to this one and I am glad I did. I was amazed at how close and smooth of a shave I got with it, was almost like using a manual razor. I would highly recommend. I also like the cleaning/charging station. You do need to buy cleaning packets for it but you can usually get several for pretty cheap on other online marketplaces.

I bought this shaver for my son’s birthday a couple of years ago and he still loves using it as much as he did the first day according to him. It is a nice, clean, smooth shave. I wouldn’t know I’m a female, but I’ll take my son‘s word for it, it’s an excellent product. It looks nice. It comes with a little stands. That makes it look fancy and you don’t have to leave the lane around the bathroom sink or in a drawer somewhere. I would include pictures, but my son is grown and does not live with me, but when I went to go visit, I saw it in his basket , and it actually is not an eyesore the way that most men shavers are in the way on the countertops. This one sits on a little pedestal. It’s just awesome. It looks sharp and according to my son, it’s very well worth the money that I spent great investment.

I was very hesitant to try an electric razor, considering my beard is full and thick and grows quickly. I had been using a DE razor and wet shaving for the last few years. I tired of the time and blood. I researched the closest cutting electric razor sand this one seemed to be among the best. Turns out that I like it even more than I had hoped. It shaves close and quickly. It allows me to shave daily or go 3 days and handles both situations with comfort. Been using for about a month and I will never go back to blades and cream and the hassle.
If I'm careful and focused this razor is basically as close a blade. A solid shave takes under 4 minutes and I experience no issues at all even with somewhat sensitive skin.
If you're considering an electric razor, I'd start right here. The closeness, comfort, and convenience will truly change your mornings.

A step up from Braun series 7

I just began using this a few days ago. My prior shaver is a Braun series 7. This is definitely quieter. It does a bit better job at getting a close shave, but still has a few issues for me at the bottom of my cheeks, right above the jaw-line. I like the fact you can clean this by putting some soap on the top of the cutters and run it, then rinse with water. The cleaner unit is definitely not needed. I still get a closer shave with a razor, though.

It was time to replace my Braun Series 7 which served me well for several years. In fact I've used Braun for about the past 20 years. I looked at this and the new Braun 9 series and decided to give Panasonic a chance. After using it for a month, I can honestly say it's a better razor than the Series 7, but not without some weaknesses.
The good: both wet and dry the overall shave is good. The cheek area, upper lip areas are very close. Battery life is very good, with over an hour of shave time per full charge. The mutl flex head is a nice feature and helps to keep the head square to face. Shaver is very light, easy to hold.
The not so good: shave head is bulky and takes time to get use to it. Foils tend to get warm during drive shave. Not a fan of Panasonics cleaning solution approach, Braun has better option. No brick and mortar stores near me, including Best Buy, stock replacement foils, cutter or cleaning solution.
Overall, very pleased with this shaver.

Been using traditional razor shavers since I started shaving. Always ended up with cuts/razor burn. Two weeks with the Arc5, and I love how close it gets without the issues I've had with traditional razors. Took about three shaves to get used to the new style of shaving. Now I enjoy it being apart of my morning routine. Easy to handle and clean. I still haven't recharged it, which speaks volumes about battery life. This product is great, and I can't praise it enough.
