This Samsung TV was non functioning right out of the box. The screen was just a blur of swirled colors. Unfortunately I had this TV shipped directly to my home, so by the time I was able to return it to the store, this model was no longer available. I bought this Samsung TV because it was on sale for about half of the regular cost and was a great deal. I was offered a comparable model for 250 dollars more, but said thanks, but no thanks.

Bought this TV on exchange after first Samsung Smart TV wouldn't play audio on apps (Netflix, Amazon Prime, or HBO). Thought I had a winner until about a week ago when this TV stopped opening apps and after several failed attempts to access any apps, now won't turn off from remote although I'm able to navigate the menus. I'm officially done with Samsung - the picture/sound was good (when I could get the TV to work) - now all I have is a paperweight that resembles a large flat screen. Will be returning for an LG or Sony - anything but another Samsung

Just an up front disclaimer I have had to deal with Samsung customer service on multiple occasions due to this TV. And each time they have assured me that it is not a hardware issue and that the TV is operating properly! It's the software that isn't working. hummm well if this is proper & they can't fix their software integration then I want nothing to do with it. Here is what is going on.... Our family doesn't have cable or satellite as we just use amazon video and Netflix. Well it appears that Samsung doesn't take any responsibility for the software that they install on their units. First off we have two tv running off the same power amplified roof mounted antenna feed. New unit gets about 6 stations. Only one major network. Old Samsung (5yr old) gets 27 channels including all major networks. Samsung answer was "it's because you are splitting the signal and there is less data for the tv to capture"!??!? What is that!? So I reversed the split signals and re scanned. Same results.... I asked about the tuner is the TV and must have hit a sore spot because I clearly offended the tech. Mind you he was logged in to remote management this whole time. So again he said "it's an issue with the antenna no the TV so problem solved right!?" I said "not really".... Next... Amazon video will work until you load a different source i.e. Netflix or live tv then "if you want to switch back to Amazon Video you have to do a hard reset of the entire TV and run through the set up process again if you really want to watch something from Amazon"! This was the best answer/fix for the TV that Samsung could recommend! I have another 5yr old Samsung TV in our home and Amazon has and still does work flawlessly. What a lemon! May be a one off but Samsung Customer Care said they can assure me it is not a problem with the hardware! Hummm.... guess I need to try a different brand!?

    Do not buy this TV

I purchased two of these tvs during the holiday season as gifts. The tv has a 1 year warranty however based on my person experience the warranty has zero value. Our tv developed a "crack" on the internal screen within the first 90 days. I was told by customer service at best buy the tv had been "damaged" and because it had been damaged it was not covered by the manufacturer's warranty. The tv has no visible sign of any external damage and was not damaged by us. I was also told that the best buy warranty would not cover this type of repair. Its clear to me that this is a design defect or build defect. I'm a platinum member at best buy and have continued to buy from them because I thought my platinum status would provide some type of benefit in this type of situation but I was wrong, they treated me like I was a problem and offered zero concession. I will be buying elsewhere in the future.

This was a good TV when it worked. After just 4 years it worked before bed, woke up and no power. Just dead! No TV should only last 4 years! We own almost all Samsung tv's and the problems seem to be getting more and more. I guess they are selling dispoable TV's now. I need to start looking at different manufacturers. Good luck if you are buying Samsung. Definitely get any extended warranty.

I bought a TV on 12/12 and pick it from store on 12/18. I bought many items in best buy and I always trust them so I didn't switch on TV until Christmas weekend (12/23) and then I saw that TV is not switch on. I see a curve (may be a damage) on the screen when I power on TV. I called best buy and tried to return the TV. They told that you can go to any best buy store to return TV. I drove to Best buy store and then they are saying that I should return defect/ damage TV with in 3 days of pick up from store which they didn't mention anywhere in the receipt or given papers. Now I am help less. Please help me on this.

Refresh rate not adequate. I watch Cramer and stock quotes coming across the screen leave lines. I didn't think this would be a concern with a 4k tv. Very dissapointed.

I purchased this on sale and was excited about the new TV. It worked for one day and then a small red line formed on the screen. Called Samsung and they walked through all the diagnostics and determined it was defective and would need services or returned. I returned it to Best Buy and since it was a discontinued item they did not have any more in stock and said I would have to pay $150 for the newer model. I was supposed at the lack of service and have decided to look elsewhere for a TV.

When I set up the tv, it started well and lasted for 5 mins , then began power cycling (Restarting) continuously. Not sure why it happened. Returned it to bestbuy store and the returns was quick and clean - Thanks to bestbuy for that. Maybe mine was a bad or faulty piece , I am not sure , but still buying your first tv and it lasting just 5 mins gave a bad impression. Didnt want to exchange and get the same brand again and try my luck a second time.

    Defective TV

I bought this tv to run both my xbox one s, playstation 4 pro, and my gaming desktop. I noticed that when i originally purchased the tv that I could only get HDMI 1 to output 4k with HDR so I had to swap the HDMI cable between HDMI ports if I wanted the full HDR 4k effect with my consoles. I spoke to best buy customer service and it turns out that my tv is defective and I need to return it. The quality control continues to be awful from Samsung.

The only way to get the 4K affect is if the picture is blacked out along the edge of the screen, making the 40-inch TV I purchased seem like a 32-inch TV. If the picture is zoomed in to fill the entire 40-inch of the screen, then the picture quality is less than a normal LED or plasma 1080. The TV image in the store looked awesome, but it cannot be replicated at my home.

Purchase was awful. The TV was dented in at the top with a scratched screen. I will never buy an open box item again. I have purchased 3 tv's from Best Buy with no problems. They were new. The only reason I bought this open box was due to the statement, the Geek Squad checked it out and stated it was in perfect condition. That was so far from the truth.

TV stopped working after 2 weeks, had to return. Best Buy was great to work with, they let me exchange the TV for a different brand and model TV. When they came to deliver the new TV, they took none working TV back. They made the whole process very easy for me.

This TV had a cracked screen which you couldn't see until it was assembled and turned on. It was somehow cracked behind the outer layer so you have no idea until you turn it on. Returned exchanged

I bought two 40" Samsung TVs as Christmas gifts and both were damaged right out of the box. Screens damaged. One wouldn't even turn on. Took them back and exchanged for a different manufacturer.
