the Seagate Expansion 34TB External USB 3.0 is a great addition to my other Seagate drives I use every day. It's quiet, fast and I know I can depend on it. For me it was easy to just plug & play. No formatting was needed for my PC. Quick set up and use is a big plus for me. I've had no problems with the drive and it is able to store 25+ years of photos and artwork with a ton of rum to spare. Download speed is fantastic. Love all my Seagate Drives. Never had a problem with any of them. Highly recommend the product to anyone who needs more hard drive space. Super happy with it and you will be too.

This external drive is both fast and also massive! Wish I'd purchased one sooner. The largest single drive I've ever had before this was 8TB. I back up our home server and each of our home computers onto this now, and it's perfect.
Only con is that it does make some clicking noises when being used. This is not an issue for me at all, but something to note, and probably common with larger platter drives. Love it and will be buying more!

Giving this a try after using WD easystores for a few years because of the sale price for the capacity.
CrystalDiskInfo reports ST24000NM002H-3KS133 which is a SATA Exos X24 24TB.
CrystalDiskMark seems to be typical.
Connected to a Dell Optiplex 5050 SFF. Connection is USB Micro-B.
Was formatted exFAT, registered it (Start_Here_Win.exe) before quick reformatting to NTFS. All the easystores came formatted NTFS and I haven't had permission problems. Among other things, gives me more flexibility with the label name.
Only had a chance so far to run chkdsk d: /f /r > chkdsk24tb.txt in an elevated command prompt.
Took about 29 hours. The majority of the time was spent in Stage 5: Looking for bad, free clusters ... Will run other tests (SMART, etc.) when I get a chance.
Has not been noticeably noisy so far. Will see how it sounds with more tests and when copying TBs of data to it.
Have it placed on an old case fan on standoffs blowing up to provide air circulation, as I do with the easystores.

Easy to use and setup. Works great for a backup storage or RAID configuration for a media server. I personally use this for my 3D modeling projects. I model on both my Windows Desktop and Macbook Air. No problems with switching between devices, and it's compact, which I appreciate taking with me when traveling. It's pretty quiet considering it's a HDD inside. Do I wish it was a little quieter yeah but for price/TB it's hard to beat. Also I've had other branded hard drives before and they fail. I have yet to have a Seagate drive fail in ~20 years of owning them.

This is my best purchase so far. It's a good deal for 24 TB, and Seagate is one of the best Drives for PCs and storage. It's silent and makes no sound while loading. Most of my external drives have been Seagate for more than 10 years now—the best of the Best.

I guess you get what you pay for. These Seagate drives are not sturdy. I own three of these drives: 8TB, 22TB and this 24TB. This one quit after one week, and after I spent days copying media to it. I used it as a Time Machine backup, so it has my personal data on it. It cannot be reformatted or erased by me or even the Geek Squad. So even though it's under warranty. I cannot return it to Seagate for fear of my data being stolen. Read the fine print, they even warn you that your data might get stolen if you don't erase a drive before returning it. It's now a $250 door stop. I will not buy another one. Very disappointed. And now my trust in the 8 TB & 22 TB drives has been undermined.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent value for high-capacity stora

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent value for high-capacity storage
Picked this up in-store and it’s been exactly what I expected from Seagate. The 24TB capacity is massive, performance is solid for an external USB drive, and setup was completely plug-and-play. The enclosure feels sturdy, runs quietly, and stays reasonably cool even under sustained use.
This is a great option for large media libraries, backups, or bulk storage without paying enterprise-drive prices. The included Rescue Data Recovery service is also a nice peace-of-mind bonus.
Overall, outstanding value for the price — reliable, fast enough for its class, and doing exactly what it’s supposed to do. Would absolutely buy again.

This is a good drive, very large capacity, when it is online it is fast to read and write, but LOUD... like OMG loud! I added padding underneath it and still loud. The other thing is that it takes much longer to warm up than other drives I have had, but that was understood as it is scanning a much larger drive than my last.

I am very happy with the amount of storage for the price. The drive performs well for not being a SSD drive. The speed is decent, but not as fast as a SSD drive, but you get a great amount of memory for the money, so definately worth it. The drive is a bit noisy when writing and I have seen from other reviews that this is normal for the drive.

This product is one of the best storage devices I have ever used. It is easy to get up and running right out of the box. The included instruction manual is easy to understand and gives detailed instructions on how to configure the unit to your specific setup, be it iOS or Windows. It very slim and takes up very little desk space. I use mostly iOS, and moving files over is as simple as clicking and dragging.

This 24TB drive is a beast. Tons of space, fast transfer speeds, and super reliable for backups and media work. Runs cool and quiet too. If you need serious storage, this is it—no regrets.

Wild to say that in 2026 you can get 24TB of storage for just over $300. So far it works like a charm feeding my Blu-ray and DVD backups on an M4 Mac Mini Plex server. No stutters, but only two months in, so who knows. If you can get it for a reasonable price, it's never bad to have tons of storage. You are always making more files.
