I wanted to back up my files, and this item with a hefty amount of memory seemed like a good choice. It was pretty simple to use, and I've had no issues with it.

The Seagate brand is a very good brand to use for hard drives. The portable hard drives have become very affordable. Every student should use one.

Large 2GB capacity, fast and small. Completed 600GB in about 12 hours. This is our 8th Seagate drive and we have never had a failure in the past 12 years.

The software that came with it is working well. I just back up photos, videos, and a couple of document folders. It was easy to set up.

I can only share my experience with this Hard Drive. I bought it to back up my Dell PC. I have ALWAYS preferred and liked Seagate, so I did not hesitate to buy this. However, upon connecting it to my computer, nothing happened. Instructions are non-existent. Seagate has now sent Tech support offshore, and I connected with someone in Toronto Canada who was EXTREMELY difficult to understand. We all know the definition of insanity - doing the same ridiculous thing over and over, but expecting different results. I spent over an hour and a half, down on my hands and knees connecting and disconnecting the USB over a dozen times. Downloaded, and deleted the softwear about half a dozen times. Performed numerous useless troubleshooting exercises. Disconnected my Norton Firewall. Registered the Product twice. I was needing to utilize my cell, land line and computer. This person CLEARLY did not know what he was doing - just reading from a computer screen. Threatened to hang up on me more than once as I was getting frustrated with the useless tasks I was being asked to perform, over and over and over! I learned Seagate uses 3rd Party software. I believe they used to have their own. When he started instructing me to delete all of the backup files on my PC, that's where I drew the line! I asked that the call be escalated. Someone "will get back to me." Only a couple of days left for me to return it, so that's what I did! It has been over a year with COVID. Enough time to stop blaming it for EVERYTHING and start providing adequate Tech Support!

Seems fast and hopefully I can rely on it. My Mac kept shutting down when I used my old ex hard drive. Fingers crossed
