Loved for Two Weeks then it was Dead

We had the Sony Bravia 8 OLED 4k for about 2 weeks and then it just died on us. I turned it off prior to going to bed and then kept hearing clicking noises from the TV like it was trying to reset. I then tried to power it on and it failed. It doesn't turn on at all however there's still the clicking noise like it's trying to reset. I had it on an APC Power Surge protector and every other device powers on but the TV.. So glad we have total membership with BestBuy. They are replacing the TV on Sept 30th and I just bought an AudioQuest PowerQuest 2 power surge protector for the new TV. If this doesn't work, then Sony has some serious issues with this new TV.

Had a minor problem but calling Sony revealed that when you update the TV you must restart it otherwise minor problems may occur. All is well. It's a beautiful TV!

I got this to upgrade to a bigger size and im absolutely loving the display, anything looks gorgous and this, and the fact its also a google tv is even better

I think it’s a five star but my wife says it’s not bright enough so I have to rate it a four star.

The XR80 series is designed to deliver a brilliant picture with incredible contrast and a wide color spectrum. There are a few settings you can adjust to increase the brightness to your wife's liking. We recommend exploring the Picture Mode options in the settings menu. You might find that switching to a mode like "Vivid" or adjusting the Brightness and Peak Luminance settings manually can make a big difference.

The picture is bright and and the processing is amazing. Upscaling is very good if you watch live tv.

Sony warranty customer service was awful. However, Best Buy stepped in and replaced the TV even though I was a week past the return deadline.

The TV is good in this price range. Sony always has dependable and quality products. The tv display is great, but lacks in sound quality, definitely need a speaker.

Two bad models back to back

Such a beautiful picture with horrible software issues. Keeps freezing up at random and the only resolve is to unplug t.v. Like come on Sony paying 2,300 for a t.v and issue still can’t be fixed. DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL
We are incredibly sorry to hear about the freezing issues you've encountered with your BRAVIA 8. We completely understand your frustration—at this price point, you deserve a seamless, premium experience, not the hassle of unplugging your TV.
Since this isn't the standard we aim for, we'd recommend checking for the latest firmware update in the settings menu, as these often contain stability patches. If you've already done that, a Factory Data Reset can often clear out "ghost" software bugs that cause freezing. If the issue persists, please reach out to our support team so we can look into a more permanent resolution for you. We want to get your 77-inch display back to being the centerpiece of your home, minus the stress.

Issues with new TV

I bought the TV a month ago. 2 weeks ago I had a blurry line across the entire bottom of the screen. Turned it off, unplugged and rebooted it. Worked with no problem. Now 2 weeks later, same issue. I need help on what I should do? Can I return it? When you pay this amount for a TV you shouldn’t have this problem. Extremely frustrated.
